  1. Our main #twitter feed @TRwandaCycling not far off 5000 followers - a big sponsor milestone! Please follow/RT 2 help us get there ????????????????????????‍♀️ https://t.co/1VJBEjpR64 Above is their national team's twitter if people want to follow. And their cycling federation: @cyclingrwanda
  2. Good point ofaniy. But I think you answer your own observation. Most people cycle for the "lifestyle". Meaning it's just for their fun and health. Which is no problem. I hope the boys do well. There are always amazing crowds at that tour!
  3. Because rules are subjective. Which is a problem. Point is, people will push the rules. And break them. Just to win. The stories from sport and life are crazy. The inches are all around us
  4. Would you say breaking rules is immoral? *Help [emoji15] should it be "is" or "are"?!
  5. Myles, what exactly is it you do again? Sorry if I missed it. Are you a (independant) financial advisor? Investments? Life insurance? Medical aids? Thanks, andre
  6. Nice photos popeye. And don't let one guy spoil it. Maybe he bonked Think of the hundreds of others enjoying it!
  7. Great average heart rate.. you can have a few beers later [emoji106]
  8. Ooh la la a few handbag fights on social media. Rita actually asked a good question. Discovery's response that a low fat diet is a fad didn't go down well!! No wonder they deleted it. Note I have no horse in this race. I only want the truth
  9. Thanks for sharing stricker. All the best with your training and goals!
  10. I tried to keep out of this one, but now I want to add.. this is shocking! How can you just not deliver on your promise? I have a suspicion that they actually don't have enough stock to give to all early entrants and that they bargain on only a small percentage that would follow up, like you did. I would want to see how many early entrants there were and what percentage of them received their bottles and whatever is inside. If I had the time I would've taken it further and get a consumer protection place involved. But alas, I don't.
  11. [emoji1] But I'm sure they won't link health to banking. It might be something like only using your Discovery bank card for purchases. And then at top/group level, you might get extra points for just using more of their services. E.g. 1 point for banking, 3 points for banking and health and 6 points for banking, health and insurance. In any case, that would make sense to me at least.
  12. Has anybody seen the footage? Apparently they said the moto was stationary and she crashed into it (basically, it was really just an accident)? Still, would like to see something done, but BaGearA also makes a good point.
  13. Not directly related, but still Discovery [emoji56] What do you guys think about the bank they are starting? It will be at least another year to finalise, but "Insurer Discovery had obtained authorisation from the registrar of banks to set up its bank ahead of obtaining a full banking licence, it said on Tuesday." From BD http://www.businesslive.co.za/bd/companies/financial-services/2016-10-26-discovery-given-approval-to-set-up-its-own-bank/ Personally I think, in theory at least, any competition is good. And to link it to this thread/vitality, I'm sure they will try to combine the loyalty component, thus if you have short-term and life insurance, medical and banking products with them you will earn more loyalty points. Any opinions?
  14. True. It was good to hear his side. But should that excuse him? It was steroids?
  15. I'll try to cover one point. The banned list is made up of different categories of banned substances. One category is masking agents. They have no performance properties themselves, but they hide real performance drugs. You can read here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2962812/ but a short extract, "Diuretics are drugs that increase the rate of urine flow and sodium excretion to adjust the volume and composition of body fluids. There are several major categories of this drug class and the compounds vary greatly in structure, physicochemical properties, effects on urinary composition and renal haemodynamics, and site and mechanism of action. Diuretics are often abused by athletes to excrete water for rapid weight loss and to mask the presence of other banned substances. Because of their abuse by athletes, diuretics have been included on The World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) list of prohibited substances; the use of diuretics is banned both in competition and out of competition and diuretics are routinely screened for by anti-doping laboratories."
  16. Before I answer, are you serious? Can't see if it's comic sans on my phone.
  17. Is this him? Wouldn't want to piss him off [emoji15]
  18. hellocolour! What a question! From which angle are you asking- law, moral, ethical, philosophical?
  19. I have to admit, you bring good and relevant questions to the hub table, stricker [emoji106] Sometimes I lose my sense of humour which says more about me than you.
  20. You skipping the fast one?!
  21. Don't know about you, but stricker has been posting and trolling a lot. Connect the dots. He actually doesn't want help. I don't have time for **** like this. The mute button is there for a reason.
  22. You raise interesting points. Two thoughts from me: (a) The accountability is a relevant question. To everyone: Is there a national body coaches belong to with certain guidelines and minimum requirements/qualifications? Or can anyone be a coach? Is there a type of ombudsman for complaints? (b) On uncertain outcomes; say for example you have a chronic sickness and there is this new medicine that you can take to help. It costs R2000 per month and you have to take it for 12 months. A study showed that for every 100 people, 5 are cured completely, the health of 90 is better, but not perfect, and for 5 there is no direct effect. Would you take it? (*) Just another note on expectations. You are right, there might be a small chance you don't increase specific performance, but remember there are lots of proof that exercise will improve your general health and wellbeing.
