  1. Are rollers even an option here? Why is this so difficult haha
  2. Thining of this: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/indoor-trainers-and-accessories/708589/saris-fluid-2-with-smart-sensor
  3. Hey guys, I want to get myself an indoor trainer for some mild training but I have no clue where to begin and what to look for and not. I have read a lot different articles and guides but I am not really getting what I need out of them and maybe some experienced peeps here can help me make the best purchase. So I want a trainer that can work with the following: Budget: +/- 4k (second hand) Bike: Hardtail mountainbike with 2.6" tyres and thru-axles. Features: I just want to be able to pedal indoors, the less features the better I guess for my weak ass budget. I want it to be as easy to use and I don't want to have to buy a whole load of pieces to make my bike fit or so not sure if that is a thing even. Thanks a lot
  4. Hey everyone, I am looking for a nice little neat flat/room for my bother in law that got a new job in Richards Bay at Blackwoods nursery as a manager in Meer En See so anything not too far away will work. He is a 35 year old single male, clean, tidy and quiet he won't bother anyone and has good manners and what not. His max budget is around +/- R5500 including water and electricity but anything cheaper will really go a long way and help the lad out. He will need to move in at the start of next month (Feb). So if you know of something or someone please let me know, he is the perfect tenant in my opinion that won't cause stresses or so. Thanks in advance.
  5. Pretty much. I remember looking at that fork and considering it but thinking to myself I need to ask for some more pics and of the lever especially so I can see the condition of it. Weird one, as a seller I will always include pictures and details of everything that goes with the deal and as a buyer I will always request pictures and details of everything that goes with the deal. And as the buyer I wouldn't want any lever other than an original RockShox lever due to price paid and the condition of the item being so "new" one would want a nice original lever.
  6. Hey guys, I searched but didn't find a topic similar to this one. I have been trying to give feedback to a user that recently bought my bike. The 'Deal feedback' modal opens and I type the user name but the drop down doesn't seem to be working so I can't select the user and if I click the form field it just resets back to default state. I tried Firefox and Chrome on my desktop and also on my phone still no luck.
  7. Hey everyone, So a non cycling related question here. I have a Ryobi 8803 door closer but while I was adjusting it I turned one screw too far and the oil came out. Can anyone please help me and tell me which oil I must buy to replace all of the oil that I have now lost. Thanks a lot and happy new year!
  8. Like all other bikes you have to also take into consideration the badge on the frame. If you get it you get it. It adds a little bit of personal value above what the actual bikes gives you physically, it just comes down to if that aligns with the rider personally and if it does they will understand.
  9. This is the best advice I have read online in a long time. I would 100% go with the Tigre, I wouldn't even think twice.
  10. I use to own one of these Simple Sams for a while, they pretty solid and well built for the price tag. I couldn't really find a cheaper commuter and quick hop on and ride type of bike at that time also got it second hand. No complaints, all good I would say.
  11. The best thing for me was, I ordered some Fox long riding pants from them, they didn't have stock but ended up sending me the cheaper Fox pants instead of telling me no stock and the price difference was close to 1k. Was weird.
  12. That right there, is for real my dream bike man. Freaking amazing.
  13. Yeah, owning and riding something like a Cotic is just different. In most cases it is the specific model of a brand that growns on you but with Cotic it is the brand itself in a different way. Bike I regret selling the most is my Cotic Simple 26 to fund my Cotic Rocket, should have just saved for longer and have both, ag ja... You won't regret your purchase and huge congrats
  14. I have owned both and others, this is what I can tell you: The thing about Hope is, it grows on you as a product and brand more than other's do. First I got the brakes, now I want the cranks, wheelsets etc. Now for the brakes: The first thing is the physical feel of the brakes in your hand, it all feels very solid and well built. It gives you that feeling when you pick it up like damn this is quality. The adjustment 'levers' are awesome even with gloves on. The build quality is nothing short off of awesome. The performance in my opinion is awesome, they aren't as sharp or 'bitey' but you can adjust them somewhat for a sharper bite and slap on a nice big rotor and you will be close. The nice thing is you can go both ways or be in the middle, you can't really have the extremes of both ends but I feel like the Hope brakes have a little more fiddling room to play with. Been riding my Hope's for 3 years, no problems at all and I am now only considering a bleed for the very first time. I have Hope Race Evo X2s too, got them in 2015 they are on my commute bike now but have been on my jump bike too and same story, I have had to bleed them more often and they are pretty used but still 100%. I wouldn't say the Hope brakes are better than Formula, that is an endless debate. But if you are into a product that is bulky, strong and a bit more industrial/mechanical Hope is the call for me.
  15. Well you have options but the main first ones that come to mind is: A hydration pack either a backpack or hip pack/moon bag/bum bag/hip bag etc. one of those. Or you can get a rail, like the Holy Rail:
  16. I mean it's cool but I don't have the extra coins rights now to kind of 'gamble' with, if that makes sense. Good luck to these guys, if they around till next year then maybe.
  17. Jip, I have posted about this before. Mr Price bibs are really good. I have Spez and Fox ones too but the Mr Price ones are kind of my go to ones, I got me 2 pairs almost 2 years ago and they are still 100%.
  18. 1. Berry Muesli (Woolies most of the time) 2. Add grapes most of the time (The 1kg containers go for 39.99 or even 29.99) or any other fruit that is on special 3. Fat free yogurt 4. Topped with some honey I eat this before all my rides.
  19. Got a nice boot bike rack that welcomes my Rocket and possibly any other bikes out there nice and safely: And then my fiancée started getting into it, rented a bike a few times also had her first crash and still keen so got her a little something at a killer price:
  20. I might be wrong about this but like most things in life nothing is free. And this is a free to use platform, much like Facebook etc. difference being Facebook etc. makes millions and billions out of marketing tools, ads etc. Bikehub, maybe doesn't make millions and billions from upgraded ads but at the same time I think the classifieds with it's upgraded ads etc. is what helps to fund Bikehub, I think it is what actually helps to keep Bikehub alive in terms of traffic on the site. I always thought most people who use this website, use it for the "marketplace". I never got the same idea as you that the site's focus was for chats, I always thought it was for the buy and sell. Point being, it costs money to run this website. A lot more than people might think, so I really like the focus on the marketplace and I hope it helps with sales for upgraded ads.
  21. Pulling or accidentally push or knock the brake lever without having a clip in. Removing a cassette in a rush and ended up damaging the cassette so much that some of the gears slipped the whole time no matter what. Doing multiple stuff at the same and having a phone call on loud speaker ended up with a tubeless installation done but with the tyre's rotation the wrong way. Doing bike maintenance (clean chain and rings etc.) without wearing gloves. Not really an issue but just saves you so much time, I don't mind dirty hands at all but since I started wearing gloves I will never stop. Gave my headset a nice proper service but broke the bottom bearing's seal ring. Put on new lock on grips forgot to tighten them hopped on the bike and in this motion slipped and my feet got stuck and tangled and ended on the floor. Figured out that there is a L and R pedal after installation. The list is really long haha But the best for me is: Offering to help/fix something on a bike for someone but it ends up being much worse than expected and the person then blames/avoids you and even says you scratched their stanchion.
  22. Best Bike Ever .
