The thing is this could have given many people a lot of hope and something to look forward to. A world cup also has a way to unite a country as it has done in the past. SA could be in a much better space in a few years time. Upcoming elections could change everything. SA needs to deal with its issues now and everybody being negative doesn't help. Any ways we didn't get it so time to move on

I don't see the part where is says a world cup in Ireland will make more money than one in France or SA. From the organisers perspective I do know SA provided the biggest guarantee so that's a start.

Why would you invest in a country with only one proper stadium? If your investment is measured in tickets sold then SA. Also it is a lot cheaper to visit SA than Europe so expect more visitors here.

Well the World Cup can always be moved should it become apparent in 2021 that SA is not able to have it here. They have done it with the IPL and I know for a fact there is always contingency plans with regards to these tournaments. I think it was arrogant for the French to point to our crime stats when they themselves are a terrorist hotspot. The vote did not go against us because of our country - France simply bought it. Look closely at the votes. We actually got more votes from the larger unions (3 votes) but almost none from the smaller unions. You have to ask yourself why would so many Unions go against the recommendation that all unions agreed upon 18 months ago? Yes. What also gets me is that SA2023 could very well look completely different to SA2017. Saying crime is the main issue means you have given up on SA's future all together. From the voting it seems France definitely "bought" all of the smaller countries. Japan and especially "Africa" stabbed us in the back (those 4 votes + one more would have made the difference) We accommodated Japan in Superrugby and how many of our players and coaches are helping them build the sport and this is how they repay us. As for the Africa vote, it is probably not surprising considering the chairperson for "African Rugby" is a French citizen. I am also very disappointed with USA and Canada for siding with the French (one wonders what promises were made) A transparent and independent process followed by a secret vote? Nothing transparent about that.

Not at the moment. But if they took the time to "port" it then it would be great. The PS4 would also make for the perfect platform to ride on as the PS4 would easily manager the graphics and you can use the controller to steer and its already got bluetooth. I see them integrating Pro Cycling Manager the game into bike trainers one day!

I very much doubt it. The only way is possibly if you are able to run 2 zwift applications simultaneously but even if you do it this way how will both guys control their cyclist and communicate etc.....

I am going to generalize and apologies if my comments is seen as off topic. I have not read all of the comments. A couple of thoughts.......... This is a great idea except for the fact that so many dopers are still racing among us that have not been caught (yet). They don't really test for age groupers / middle to back markers so we will never really know but there are many - and even the lab have now closed. How many of the riders at the Giro do you really believe to be clean? They all judge doping and then boom another one gets caught and so the cycle repeat itself. Professional cycling have proven it self over and over again that if you don't dope you cannot compete at the top half I suspect that for every one doper who is now not racing an event there are still 5 uncaught riders out there. Another question is that If a guy was banned for 2 years and he did his time why is he not allowed to race again if he is clean? Don't we actually need these guys to preach the dangers of doping etc? A while back Ironman they said they are very worried about the age groupers as studies shows there are a lot of doping happening (don't ask me how - maybe anonymous surveys). They basically stated that wealthy businessmen especially like to dope as they don't have time to train properly but are competitive with other wealthy businessmen they know and due to funds has easy access to EPO - I cant provide the source as I read it early last year somewhere - and in the 70.3 Durban's lead up they confirmed testing to take place on age groupers (something that never happened) Having said this I will also have a problem with races welcoming dopers into their races whilst still under their 2 year ban - or ex riders who failed to show remorse after being caught Maybe the question then is if Lance, Floyd and Tyler entered the Argus next year, would you allow anyone of them to race? (Lets assume Lance did the time he was banned)

Can I have all the participants for a practical trial as well? Incidentally it will be the same dates as the 94.7 and the Argus . It will also be to test the side effects of "pacing" or "drafting" for prolonged periods on myself.

We'll I am one of the weaker riders. The other 2 guys could go close to winning the race in my opinion.

If anyone has 2 teams that want to ride as one team, we have an entry to swop. We are 4 riders looking to ride in 2 teams of 2 instead of one team of 4.

How much does/did a 2 man entry cost compared to 4 man team? We are a team of 4 but 2 riders are way stronger. I asked them if we could change it and they said:- 1. No at this stage as the race is overly full (not sure what they mean as we are not brining extra riders with and will still use 1 support vehicle for the 4 riders) 2. Maybe later if there is cancellations 3. If they do decide to allow us we will have to pay another entry fee I then asked what happens if 2 guys just ride away from the other two and they said you will be stopped and forced to wait at all 6 checkpoints. Has anyone else had a similar problem in the past?

Thank goodness. Last time I walked into another LBS in Bfn they threatened to shoot my kneecaps if I didn't buy anything Anyways, bullying sales tactics is something that got relooked the day the first online store opened.

I have 5 dogs and I am an avid cyclist. There enough other routes to cycle in the area. Cycle the Farm and then along the spruit down on route to Delta Park etc. If you have to enter the gardens stay on the dog free side. Let the dogs chill in their area. We have already enough other routes. That little 2.5km stretch will not make a difference.

Remember next time to drag it through clean water after the sea swims.
