  2. I'm going to eat sleep drink all in excessive quantities but in no particular order for the next 3 weeks. No ways for me to stay fit. No indoor training and running 100 laps around my pool is not my idea of enjoyment. Ramping up the milage to 100km weeks for Comrades did introduce a niggle or two from my own stupidity so I recon complete rest is the best medicine to get those sorted.
  3. I guess the CMA will postpone the race to September.
  4. I've have never seen so many morning runners in Johannesburg. Although the familiars run from 4:30 to about 6:00. These newbies are more 6:00 to 8:00 joggers
  5. For once I have to agree with someone from the government [emoji15]
  6. Got an sms last night There is a bit of hope. But deep down I known the probability of Comrades 2020 taking place is shifting it not happening.
  7. OK the first 99 to arrive first gets to run
  8. You two and probably another 10000 of us. [emoji23][emoji23]
  9. What a great run from Juan van Deventer today [emoji15]
  10. Might as well give up cycling then.
  11. Perfect training run at ODD today. Left Jhb at 3:00 to miss the traffic and chilled on the back of my bakkie until 30min to start. Planned for 4h30min time ended up with 4h34 due to some sillyness down Saartjie nek that I paid for afterwards. All in all great run with awesome friends
  12. Hopefully I'll bump into you tomorrow. Doing a nice long training run tomorrow. Got a bit of then flu on Wednesday so not going to push at it at all.
  13. After all this training I'll drive to PMB and run to DBN by myself
  14. They make excellent clothes hangers
  15. I had a brilliant Pirates 21km run today. With 5km to go I realised I could possibly go sub 1h40 but missed it with 6 seconds. Best run I have ever had. Legs just wanted to Go the entire way.
  16. I see a local made a 100k YouTube subscribers Happy for him https://youtu.be/ZVEKCL6m2FI
  17. Cool Ideas 2020 Trail Running Series - Kloofzicht Code of Conduct Don’t trash the organisers on Social Media – have the balls to chat to them first. If racing, follow the arrows – not the person in front of you.Being my very first trail run I decided to actually listen during the race briefing. The organiser saying that every year runners goes off the route and he doesn't understand it as he walks the route and its impossible to lose the trail as its clearly marked. My take-away being that you must an idiot to go off trail. Well clearly Im an idiot as my 25km run turned into a 30km run. I ran the first 20k on my own with no other runner in sight expect for the odd time where I would catch someone and overtake them. So I didnt blindly follow anyone. With the late 7am start I realised something is up as I was still far away from my car, my watch showing 25km and the sun doing its best to make sure the temperature is sitting at a nice 30C. With an empty camel back I was not amused. Luckily Im fit at the moment and the trail itself was really amazing and I was enjoying the run. It was just a bit a mental stumble when you ought to be done but you still have a parkrun to go. My road running tekkies were perfect as the terrain was not rough at all , and dry so grip was also never a problem. From the results page it seems like only the first 6 runners ran the correct route, everyone else after them ran 30km. Even at the last water table the Bavaria girls were directing runners the wrong way. Its takes one person to flip an arrow board 180deg to make everyone run 5km further. On Monday morning I was more stiff after my 25km trail run than the marathon I ran the week before :-)
  18. I entered my first ever trail event on Sunday. I have never ran a trail before Do I really need to fork out R2k tomorrow for trail shoes or will a pair of my road shoes get me trough it?
  19. Being a 100kg runner myself it would really be an achievement going sub 3 on a Marathon
  20. Managed a C seeding at Johnson Crane. Just had a awesome run. Legs were turning over and miles just flew by. Wish all my runs could go like today.
  21. I popped into the one on Hendrik Potgieter for the first to time on the weekend to buy some run training kit. Not a single XL pants or a single pair of socks for size 10 or larger. Drove all the way for nothing. Huge store with no stock. Rather pathetic.
  22. Yes because your average bike thief shows up in full cycling kit ready for the moment
