now that sucks... it would appear the graphics / clear coat are not that solid. damage from 2 trips on a holdfast rack (with rubber grippers nogal)... yes, I'm a tad bleak

Yeah the BB part's what worries me - this bike already has a low BB. Good to know it's not a train smash though - can save up and replace when the time is right rather than fork out now when I can ill afford it...

Hey all you tech savvy hubbers, I have a question... I recently bought a 2nd hand 2007 Commencal Meta 5.5. After some digging on the web, I have discovered that the shock length for the rear shock is 200mmx50mm. However, when measuring the shock currently on the bike, I discovered that its length is 190mm - it's a Rock Shox Monarch (where AFAIK the Meta originally came with a Fox RP23). What are the effects of running a shorter shock? Can I get away with it or do I need to cough up for a new shock? Any and all advice will be appreciated...

Getting there! LBS has built it up just having issues with my rear shock. Supplier is sending a temporary replacement shock until it's sorted, so I should have some decent (built) pics tomorrow ish, whoo hoo!

So who's going to the Contermans Shuttle Day this Sunday? http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=199703940081039 I'll be there (hopefully) with my Meta 5.5 - shuttling up and taking some of the trails down instead of the downhill track (check out the map) - consisting of the top "blue" route, the upper part of the green route and the lower black route - it's 98% singletrack and has some nice technical bits with a couple of flat sections and one gnarly climb in the middle anyone keen to join me with their AM / trail rig?
