  1. Also nice for riding: Pendulum: The Island (parts 1 and 2), The Vulture, Witchcraft, The Tempest, Set Me on Fire, etc
  2. I wasn't really going for the Animal brand image - they're a sponsor, like all the others, and had to be included. I was going for the Atherton brand image with the blues and the white bits. But hey, to each his own And plaid is timeless bro. timeless.
  3. and? what's the problem?
  4. Thanks man all comes down to personal taste I guess.
  5. you can see the winner, top 5 and all entries here: http://www.facebook.com/athertonracing
  6. I need to spend some long overdue family time with wife and kids, so we're doing stuff on Saturday morning - I'll probably swing by the DS track in the arvie to join you guys, but I'll miss Delvera. Will play it by ear.
  7. I'm wondering if I shouldn't go for these: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=63250
  8. Flip, at least I THINK it was 7 I laugh my memory has failed me and y'all go out to try kill an unrealistic time
  9. I must go take a look! When are you guys planning to hit up the DS track this weekend? Sat? Sun? What time?
  10. If I can get my hands on a helmet cam again, I'll record the route
  11. indeed! Re-cycles in Bellville?
  12. beacon to switchbacks, over bridge, through the 2 berms, log drop, straight down - across next bridge - round corner - through the "whoops", out the forest, turn back into lower section at first corner, through the forest, down the gnarly section by the dam, out the 2nd exit, to car
  13. that song's 6 min long. the challenge - majik forest - beacon to parking lot before the song ends! my average time is 7 min i think. Ok so I'm not a downhiller
  14. same here!
  15. now THAt's a cool downhill song
  16. thanks they're British, you can't hold their bad taste against them DIY = $$$ but we'll see.
  17. DMR V12 pedals can be had for about R360 and do the job pretty well with a pair of Vans. Just sayin'
  18. bummer, i didn't win ...
  19. If you want a swanky DH / FR / AM saddle, head over here: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/10950-fizik-zeak-saddle-dh-fr-am/
  20. If you just want rear head protection, the Fox Flux, Specialized Vice and a couple of the Giro helmets all do this pretty well. For full face protection, nothing beats a full face helmet, but climbing in it is going to be hot so maybe the MET is the way to go. I have thought about taking a full face with attached to my hydration pack so that I can switch helmets at the top of the descents, but I don't think I'm that hardcore yet
  21. sorry man, kinda missed what you were saying
  22. hehehe Hey, since you're going to be at Delvera, why don't we just get together to bash out their "4x" track?
  23. aaah, I misunderstood your post I am convinced it's making a difference though. Even CptMayhem, who rode my bike, commented that he was clipping the pedals - this with the shock set at 20% sag (not Commencal's recommended 25%) and with him weighing 10kg less than me.
  24. Flowta - some research has revealed that length - stroke does not = travel - the linkage system plays a role as well. Commencal themselves confirmed for me that I need a 200x50 Buycycle has the Monarch RT3 high volume in that length for a good price, so I'm going to go for it...
  25. IF he did it, yes, very good. Course record is 23 seconds. My best is 29.something
