  1. Jip, got mine there. So far seems to work great
  2. 5 & 6 ... BUT ... those roadie bars has to go
  3. Couple of options: - the hill at Cornwall is ok if done next to the tar rode IMHO - Groenkloof trails, couple of nice ones, but not very long - but will clean out the lungs - Fort Klapperkop, the single track - both the tracks, short one coming out of downhill next to R21 & then the lekker one on the Loftus side - Then you can play around Waterkloof - lekker climbs there - Solomon Mahlangu between Garsfontein & January Masilela Dr - then there is Pta East ... the steps etc if you want to go that far - Voortekker Monument for short steep climbs
  4. Lol ... I did say "found your cycling legs" ???? But yes ... you are right - I have to add a couple of words to that ... So Ulfa, SBR or Suikerbosrand is an awesome ride with game viewing in a very scenic nature reserve - but it has a couple of good climbs, something like 1100m ascent over 58km. There is a water point half way - but yes, please make sure your legs are ready for this ride ????
  5. Hi Ulfa, this may sound a bit "paranoid", but please don't ride on your own, not even at "safe" places like Northern Farms or Groenkloof. There are a couple of clubs around, of which CycleLab is one, check in your area & join them on their beginner rides until you get to know your own limits on the bike, as well as the "safe areas". If you would like to explore areas north of Jburg - there are places like Red Barn & Groenkloof. Awesome riding at your own pace. I can show you around after s2c if you want. Then if you've found your Cycling legs, there's also Suikerbosrand close to Heidelberg in the south
  6. Hi SportySpice, Do you perhaps have routes mapped - we are planning our last s2c training in that area. Thanks
  7. If your current saddle was good to your bum, that may be a good start
  8. Sounds about right ...
  9. I assume we're talking about that piece of open veld? We go thru there at least once a week ... Or we were ...
  10. Dont know ... I had to fork out R2k for mine last week ... different brand though ...
  11. Thanks, will have a look as well.
  12. Also issues with the axle, spacer & freebody ... those three were not playing nicely anymore as a combination ...
  13. To conclude ... LBS tried another spring, but I guess the freehub was just past its useful life ... and still didn't wanna work 100% LBS did find out that a Loaded freehub fits perfectly, so will be getting one of those. At least don't have to fit the complete rear hub with new spokes ... Seems that there are zero Ellsworth distributors & service in SA ...
  14. So I was wondering what really causes the "slip" - this is what happens: - after freeing, short or long - when I start to peddle, there will be that loud "klang" sound, once/twice or not at all - will also happen when suddenly increasing power Besides the spring that is damaged, the bush is a little bit worn - what else needs to be replaced to fix the problem?
  15. Had a look on Novatec website, looks similar to their road hub - but not the sane I think
  16. This is the hub It says Ellsworth ... but it may just be branded ...
  17. Hi there Hubbers, Have had problems with the freewheel hub for a while, LBS tried to extend the life, but its time to replace. Question then, is this Ellsworth specific?
  18. Not as far as I know
  19. I think this might change though ... meaning there is no reason why a Reebok Recognised box cant be part of the official Discovery gym network. Our box has a Discovery iPad to log our workouts ... I see that as a start ... But, it is true that if a box is not affiliated ... and/or the coaches are not very strict on technique/posture/etc - this is a place you should stay as far away as possible. On the other hand, the stuff that sometimes happens at a Virgin/PlanetFitness are just as bad, or even worse from what I've seen and experienced (self induced or via trainers). I've been doing XF for about 3 months - its been great. Really nice bunch of people you work out with, good healthy competition at your own pace ... and its been great for my cycling. And all the other good things thats been mentioned in the other posts. Now I just need to get more on the bike
  20. Phoned around this am ... Cyclone SW, the Paris factory & Jburg Anatomic only opens next Monday the 13th ...
  21. Very possible ... but a very drastic "shut down" ... "<jannie@cyclonesw.co.za>: Host or domain name not found"
  22. I'm trying to place orders at Cyclone, but there is no answer on the phone, website is gone & emails are returned ... Anyone know what's going on?
  23. I solved my problem by installing a "drop plate" upside down - effectively lifting the rack above the flow of the exhaust. But I dont really use my towbar for towing stuff really, so only had to remove the drop plate once. Question, is it only the 4L petrol that has this issue?
  24. Anyone know where the Dullstroom event will take place (start/finish)?
