  1. Just opened my BB ... the left Aerozine BB bearing is stuffed. It didn't last that long, didn't really see any mud ... but there was water inside ... Damn, need to fix it by tomorrow ... don't know why I always leave stuff like this so late in the week ... What do I need to remove the bearings? And where do I get replacement bearings tomorrow? Or do I get a new BB rather? What other BBs is compatible? Not sure if I heard correct that Shimano 105 is compatible with Shimano XT M770 Hollowtech II?
  2. You sure its the R327? I grew up between Montagu & Barrydale ... Mapsource says there is no R327 close to Barrydale
  3. Call Johan - Yellow Saddle - you wont be sorry ... How to, the tools, and he has many years of experience & tricks up his sleeve - do yourself a favor & chat to him
  4. Thanks, have PM'ed JB Next question then is what rim if it cant be repaired? Specs for OE rim: Width: 29mm Lacing: 32 - 3x
  5. Not sure if its still true, but the tubeless conversion are not sealling at the moment
  6. So ... had my day spoiled yesterday coming down Breedts on our way back ... somehow rear tyre lost pressure (still no idea what happened ...), heard a knocking sound but couldnt figure out what, so I stopped - but only 100m further. And althoiugh I'm no Greg Minnaar, I really enjoy my dowhills and the Epiphany handels so lekker ... Anyhow ... this is the result ... what now? Can the rim be fixed - there is about 6-8 spots If not - what new rim? There is no time to get one from CRC - need the bike running for Magalies!

  11. o ja, forgot to mention that you really had to pedal all of the 190kms ... no free kms ... Made for very good training ...
  12. Was a lekker race, really enjoyed it! Perfect weather, awesome singletrack & lots of it, bits of sand and a bit more smallish rocks to keep the legs & lungs working Looked for the rhinos but missed them The burger for lunch on Sat was a bit small ... good thing it took us almost 6hrs to get in, otherwise I would not have made it to dinner. No mechanicals, not punctures (made sure there is a fresh supply of slime in tubeless)
  13. Thanks, I guess lesson learned here ....
  14. Last night I adjusted the brake caliper cause I heard a strange noise when braking & thought that due to wear the caliper was not aligned. So turned the bike upside down to work on, pulled the break couple of times to align the caliper and noticed that every time I pulled the lever, I had to pull it further before the brakes worked ... and now it almost touches the handlebar ... Is there easy way to fix ... immediately turned the bike over & pumped the brake lever ... but no luck yet. What happened?
  15. Isn't it the same for the Nissan series? And Supercycling? Perhaps others too? I realized this a while ago - and yes, I think something should be done. The response that you got is not acceptable ... simple & short. They have a responsibility. I know it makes it "easy" now for us (MTB buddies) to enter for each other, but it should be like a good security company at a security complex - if it is irritating it means it is actually working. Up to know I was just to lazy to do something about it ... an perhaps a bit naive ... Maybe we should get the powers in cycling to give us an answer
  16. Hahahaha ... no worries ... the plan is to take it easy, take photo's, enjoy the scenery ... Thanks for the info, will see you there then? Look out for the Mud Puppies ... but I really hope we don't see any mud ...
  17. Would also like to know ... Dirt*girl ... what was your times ... Hazeldean - Silver Stream: 3:32 Walkerville - Fast & Furious: 3:49 Seeding: 41.98
  18. Somebody said it wss like riding on marbles ... was it that bad? Anyhow ... whatever there is, I'm looking forward to lots of fun & adventure in new MTBing territory
  19. They will? Nice ... I will however make sure we have a good final training weekend starting with SBR (1x small loop + 1 big loop) & then Walkerville on Sunday. Then next weekend its all over to karma ...
  20. Thanks, So - slime around my arms & legs then I did get pair of baggies to protect my bibs from thorns, but arms & legs will just have to survive - I get really hot & claustrophobic when it warms up if I have leg&arm warmers on
  21. Just wondering ... will it help to fit new tyres for the Botswana 2day MTB stage race Apparently there are lots of thorns & sand. My current CrossMark (UST) has a couple of holes in it already and fairly worn - the Cross is just visible still. So, do I just top up with lots of slime or fit new with lots of slime
  22. Jip, also carry tube, plugs, etc. Almost needed it this morning on Breedtsnek ride - for some reason (could it be the cold?)the CrossMark wouldnt seal, pumped it a couple of times with CO2 bomb ... nothing. Inspecting the tyre, all the holes were "wet" from the sealant, resulting a lots of slow punctures. Back at home, pumped with foot pump and all the holes sealed ... tyre is still good after 8 hours ...
  23. If all goes well, the X-Tools 18 Piece kit should be just over R400 ... I hope
  24. Phone Rob There should be a phone number somewhere on his website - google leverage corporation
  25. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this shipment slip past customs without any hassles ... this is a good mix of parts, tools, clothes & electronics ... Otherwise I will be getting a beeeeg surprise
