  5. Was wondering if there is a hubber not on his bike for whatever reason, either hating his job or not in the mood for any work today - that will be so kind as to put together a CRC list of all essential tools so that I can complete my CRC order Pretty Please - It's a dual sus MTB with mostly Shimano XT & Fox Not looking for most expensive stuff - just the tools that will do the job, pretty much overhaul my MTB
  6. Anybody know where I can get a pair of Large Troy Lee MTB gloves (the neoprene version)?
  7. I'm looking for something like this ... It's only rated "moderately cool 50?F/10?C" (wind and rain resistant upper with a standard Clarino palm for moderate breathability) - but I'm sure it will be ok for me. Only $40 ... in the USA ... Where can I get in SA?
  8. I was also bitching about Clarens, but not because of the technical stuff - about the graspolletjies yes. Graspolletjies is not technical. And I think most other people also had an issue with the graspolletjies, not that it was too technical ... I could be wrong ...
  9. ja, ek sou nie aanbeveel om die Monster aan te pak met te veel rooiwyn nie Was moerse lekker race, dit het iets van alles in gehad - maar moenie fout maak nie, die 70km het my byna dood gehad

Good luck mate ... Somehow they will have to reduce the numbers for 2011 ... wonder how they will achive that - some people will be pissed, others will be happy ...
  13. Was 'n moerse lekker race! <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I had fun all the way, except didn?t know it was 85km ... only planned for 75km Probably the best race so far this year for me, really enjoyed it & it had a bit of everything in it to keep you wanting more. I will be back next year
  14. If I have to eat another tin of tuna ...
  15. I only donate on Mondays due to problems mentioned above ... suffering a bit on the weekend after once every 3 months is not to bad ... I'm no pro anyway ...

  17. There are supposedly a lot of no-no?s or taboo?s when it comes to maintaining bikes when you talk to certain people/shops ? but that?s mostly bullsh$t ?<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Kitkat, where are you based ? there are options, I?m still learning but perhaps can help with some pointers ? if you?re interested pm me
  18. On Sunday when cleaning my Epiphany after Clarens, I struggled to remove the rear wheel. At first I though I bend the hanger during 1 of 2 offs, but on closer inspection I saw this: <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I mailed Ellsworth and Tony replied saying that it is not uncommon for there to be some play. He advised to use ?some blue loctite (medium strength thread locking compound) or ?retention compound?? to help hold it in position. He mentions that the retention compound works beter and prevents potential creaking sounds from dust & stuff getting in there. So where do I get this Retention Compound easily? And is that gap normal ? I really would have thought that handcrafted Ellsworth frame would have a much beter fit?
  19. ... so what exactly are you complaining about ...
  20. aaaaaaaaaand I'm going to resist joining this debate ... I have a 4x4 4L auto - "old" model and I'm not planning on selling it soon ... Would much rather chat about Clarens 2mrw ... cant wait - I hear we have to climb a mountain or two ...
  21. Never allow the boss to come past while MTBing ... you've gotta enforce some respect
  22. Ja, more or less same experience ... My hands go numb ... ulnar nerve issues ... At first, with new skinny Lizzard grips and old gloves, my little finger got semi-permanent damage - they stayed numb for weeks after ... I then switched to Ergon grips & Spez BG gloves. My hands STILL got numb ... but just during the ride, but still major issue. I've now put the skinny grips back on with Spez BG gloves and my hands are much better - very little numbness during the ride, but ... think that little finger numbess after the ride is back, I can feel "something" there. So we will see after CLarens this weekend ... think it will be a good test for the hands ...
  23. Had the same problem with the non-UST Nevegals ... it takes time to seal the sidewalls ... Which is also the reason why I had to replace the Nevegals 2 months later ... the sidewalls on the non-UST offers very little to no protection & both front & rear tire had sidewall cuts in no time ...
  24. Bloody Idiots !!! <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> They stand to make a moer of a fortune by selling everything - just to go piss it away on nothing, parties, booze, cars, and hell knows what else that doesn?t add any value to the city I don?t ride their very often, but we need green areas like NF desperately ? there isn?t enough! Will it help to get one of the opposition political parties involved to help fight this? Signed petition & as I&AP
