  1. Hope you guys are exaggerating a little. I just got XTR...
  2. A prize for the first hubber that posts a cellphone pic of this guy @ Groenies?
  3. Awesome awesome awesome! Heading over to FB now. Congrats.
  4. I want one!
  5. Say whaaaat. I've only been there once (Nissan series) and I didn't try to follow where I'm going, just tried to keep on keepin on. Can you get a map or something there? (Dont have a Garmin for the bike). Or are the routes marked clearly? Thanks for the info.
  6. I can't remember where on the hub I saw something about some of the Van Gaalens trails being a bit damaged by the storms. Does anyone know if everything is back to normal? Want to hit the trails there tomorrow.
  7. I think there is something to understand because for any practical guy trying to do the math it wont make sense. But if you understand that it is not about the math of efficiency and all that but about the feeling, as you yourself described it, it makes sense.
  8. This makes me want to try it! Even tough I dont understand SSing I wonder if its not a bit like bow hunting. I bowhunt and most rifle hunters can justnot understand why one would want to hunt with a bow and arrow while gunpowder has been invented.
  9. Apologies for the hijack. I have a 10 Speed XT Dyna-Sys groupset (3x10). Exactly what powerlinks should I buy to keep as spares when riding?

    Uni Cycling

This life isn't always easy to start with, and some guys just don't want to make it easier for themselves. Awkward.
  11. I did't read through the whole thread so apologies if I repeat something. I would suggest you do everything possible to structure your meals so that you keep your blood sugar stable. Drinking liquids can also help the tummy feel a bit fuller. Obviously not sugar/carb rich drinks. Water, coffee, tea. Green tea will also help with the weight loss. The green tea weight loss will mostly be fluids but it has an almost immediate effect which helps staying motivated to keep eating healthy.
  12. Eldron, what size Race Kings do you use?
  13. Capricorn is right on the money. What he said.
  14. Started cycling again (used to commute to school back in the day) exactly a year ago. The gogga bit properly. Did all 5 the Nissan races (half marathon). Want to do more (and longer) races next year. Sold my bike this week to upgrade
  15. I just upgraded to a Niner. Just bought a frame, still sourcing the rest. Was on a 26HT. Will let you guys know what I think when I start riding it. I read up a lot and was planning on testing a 26DS and a 29HT. After testing the 26DS I just went ahead aand bought the 29er frame. Still not exactly sure why... My budget doesn't allow for the DS I would really like to buy right now and I figured if you have more than 1 bike, a 29HT and a 26DS isn't a bad combo. So I'll build up te 29er and if I'm not satisfied and I eventually have some 'blare' I want to throw around, I'll get a DS.
  16. KAAAA-CHOW!
  17. I dont even like Giant but that looks VERY cool! Congrats.

    INSANE CLIP

I'm with you. But you still gotta give it to the guy on the KTM. Some serious skill to throw an endurance bike through tight corners like that.

    How cool is this?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sBuna3Fw-Y
  20. Thanks guys for some decent answers - its as I thought. Very dissapointing that a noob like me can't get an honest opinion from a guy at a shop. What happened before The Hub?
  21. Martin, thats the idea I got. I know every guy has his brand but you can still compare a 3 series with a A4 and c-class...
  22. Cool. And what will then compare best to a SID?
  23. Which Fox forks compare to a RS Reba and a RS Sid. I asked a LBS what Fox compared to a Reba and the answer was: The guy kind of sniggered and said that all Fox forks are in a higher class than Reba. Almost seemed like they were wearing Fox goggles. Any objective answers to this?
  24. Epic is far from home, but just around the corner from where I work. I've had my bike there for a service or 2 and for a tubeless conversion. Very decent prices, and I had good service.
