So my new Edge 705 arrived this week from Avnic after I refused to take another Edge 305 (I had three - they all packed up). All seemed perfect until my ride this afternoon. It did not register any ascent or descent although elevation seemed to be working fine! I read about this problem somewhere on on the Hub but can't seem to find it now. Please help before I have to phone the Avnic tech desk!!!

Lost my cheapy Merida eyewear in the river on Saturday while cooling down after a killer climb an decent near Kaapse Hoop. Decided it was time for some proper eyewear and would appreciate your opinion on the two choices.

Just received my 705 from Avnic after my 305 (no surprize) bonked for the 3rd time! Will test it this afternoon but looks awesome so far!

Loved the mud, but I do think the organisers where pathetic. I had to escort 3 children which I passed on my second lap as they were being harrassed by pedestrians on route. I nearly missed the 40km start because I had to change a tyre and the race started slightly early!

Much better route than my last one 2 years ago. Lost a peddle 20 km from finish but managed to still have a great time.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine - he is shown as DNF on 45!

I'm also on my third 305. Phoned Garmin yesterday. My unit out of warranty - they offered to upgrade me to a 705 for about R2400, which seems like a reasonable deal. All my buddies are extremely happy with their 705's.
