  4. I made lots of silly mistakes when I first joined The Hub. It was the first time I was using an alias when giving my opinion and it took me a bit of time to realize that there is etiquette involved when posting on an internet forum. Give Hardegat a break!
  5. Bullsh!t!! What else do you expect to fall in your lap?? I studied dentistry and had to pay for it myself!! No loans, no petrol money from parents. I worked most nights and every weekend and holiday. Was it tough? For sure, but you can do anything if you really apply yourself! Grow up and grow a pair......
  6. So true, being forced to lie on my back has made me think long and hard about a few things......Wonder if I will ever spend a lazy day in front of TV again??? How did you hurt your L4??
  7. My road cycling shoes slipped on slate floor when I was getting of the bike....left foot was still clipped in. Fell backwards (bike still on rollers) onto my bottom. Immediate pain of the worst kind! Ambulance took me to hospital. Young female Dr wanted to send me home with pain meds for soft tissue bruising.....! I "calmly" explained to her that I think it would be best if she got a specialist opinion...... Orthopaedic surgeon had one look at x-rays and admitted me to hospital where I spent 8 days before coming home.
  8. I agree! Closed my practice for 8 weeks and will slowly return after that! Thank God for PPS!
  9. Good luck!
  10. Yes, rollers. Bought it a week before to train on with my road bike. Was just beginning to feel comfortable on it.....
  11. Any advice?? How mobile were you during first few weeks? Bedridden? Good luck with recovery!
  12. Consulted with a Orthopaedic and Neurosurgeon. Follow up in PTA 2 weeks from now with a specialist Spinal Orthopaedic Surgeon. Fracture seems to be stable....
  13. A week ago, I slipped while getting of my rollers and fractured L1 & L4 in my back!! 6 weeks in bed, at least 8 weeks off from work (self-employed) and 3 months off the bike!!!! Lesson learnt....... do not use rollers on a slippery surface!
  14. So I'm back again after 2 weeks at the coast, loads of meals out (the unhealthy kind), several parties (and a couple of cold ones!)and Sun City & Roxette this weekend!! 89kg

  20. From Facebook Page: Garmin Connect Hi, everyone, sorry that things have been a bit inconsistent the past day or so. Our team is well aware of it and working diligently on it. Your data is safe, it's not your personal computer (is that the web/tech version of "it's not you, it's me"?) and we hope to have it up for good very soon!
