  4. 89.5kg - down 0.7kg despite a week of birthday parties and lots of cake and tart. Maybe it will catch up with me for next weigh-inn

  7. Had a chat with one of Sabie locals yesterday. She will marshall on Saturday, but refused to take part on Sunday. She says that "the people of Sabie" are very unhappy with the Sunday racing. Marshalls and sponsors of waterpoints are local, churchgoing people who are now being "forced" to spend the Sunday at the event as well. I was very unhappy with the way things turned out at Barberton on the Sunday, but will be in Sabie on Sunday to see if they have made an attempt to improve the vibe etc.
  8. Say hi if you can recognise my bike underneath the mud...
  9. No, missed it. Will be doing Sabie this weekend
  10. Awesome bike!! I have the 2009 Model (Black with red) same specs and absolutely love it!! Nothing wrong with the brakes!!! I do agree that the Specialized tyres are crap - well maybe for the type of riding I do - sharp rocks and lots of "dorings" -replaced them with Conti Mountain King and Race King combo - 1600km puncture free! I think the Brain system is fantastic. I had it set up by bike shop 2 years ago and haven't touched it since. They check it when the bike is serviced.... I don't agree with @popeye - the bike is not hardtail like!! It can be set up almost any way you like. The brain system allows you to climb almost as if on a hardtail because there is no or very little bobbing up and down.( Check out videos on Youtube on how it works exactly) -this is my experience of the system and by no means fact! Becomes a fantastic full suspension on the downhills and rough stuff! I is definitely not as "soft" as an Anthem or Spark, but having tried all three, I am sticking with my Epic!
  11. Down 0.9kg 90.7kg Hoping to break 90kg after Sabie this weekend!
  12. Now that makes perfect sense......... That's how I buy all my bikes!!
  13. I agree! If we expect other road users to abide by the law, why should we get away with illegal bike racks? I have a Thule Euroway - Was pulled over at roadblock in Natal during December and Traffic cop actually thanked me for using a legal bike rack with lights and number plate
