  1. Sorry my bad, it's the Dragon 3 for R3250 and the Eagles for R2300
  2. Sidi Eagle 6 for R2300 or Sidi Dragon 5(not sure of price but CWC will sort me out) Will stick with Shimano Pedals as they are on both my other bikes
  3. Specialized,Sidi or Suplest? Just trying to narrow down between the two now
  4. Been quoted R2800 for the S-Works shoes at Melrose Concept Cyclery in Jozi , going tomorrow to check them out. Then will check out Northcliff Cycles as well.
  5. If you can find them that would be awesome, I'm up in Jozi this weekend, so maybe we could make a plan to meet up somewhere, thanks for the input.
  6. Thanks for the reply. I don't mind the extra grand if they fit well and will last a while, my last pair of shoes have served me well for over 5 years now so time for an upgrade me thinks. As for the pedals, I want a pair just for the road bike, but that will work for the same shoe/ cleats. I have a spare pair of Shimano SPD's but they are fairly heavy.
  7. I will be taking delivery of my new road bike on Monday, so am looking at getting some carbon soled shoes that I can use for both the MTB & the new road bike, as I don't feel like splashing out too much, I needed a new pair of shoes anyway and was hoping that I can find a pair that is suitable for both. Secondly, what are the best pedals to use if I'm going be using mountain bike shoes on the road bike, something that won't weigh a too much either. I do like the Spez shoes as they seem to fit my feet better, my feet are broad so nothing to narrow. Any suggestions please?
  8. What a beautiful song - Love Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder rocks.
  9. I will add this though, they are bending over backwards to put this right, which I am now more then happy about, and they are more then coming to the party, seems they are willing to bring it me. I will follow up with the full story next week. I realise mistakes happen, and it's how a shop sorts it out. Two thumbs up to Chris Snr & Chris Jr
  10. A lot, I got jinxed. The less said the better at his moment in time. Well seems even more disappointment as of 2 mins ago. Where is that crying emoticon, they are coming to the party though, but I bought a bike and not ridden it since I bought it.
  11. Yeah, still not resolved and one really annoyed and pissed of client right now.
  12. My rant will be coming very soon if I do not get any answers asap.
  13. Talk about an extreme sport, we are taking it from all sides
  14. The wages on offer, will possibly reflect the type of candidate, cycling is an expensive sport, do the math. Good luck with the shop though.
  15. Bwah ha ha, lets see how that goes with either my Rant or Rave.
  16. When bedding in the pads don't just hold the brakes in for a long extended time, brake hard and repeat.
  17. I'll pass by the Cash Crusaders in Milnerton this evening to put the word out as well.
  18. So sorry to hear, glad you are all OK Like others have said, there is suddenly a spate of hi-jacking down in Cape Town, and could possibly end in a tragedy.

  20. His family owned bike shop in London was Central Cycles based in Finchley Central. I still can't believe he has gone. A true gentleman and scholar. The type of person your parents told you about. Rick a true legend.

  22. It comes as tragic news for me to hear of the passing of one the greatest bicycle shop owner and mechanics, and nicest, gentlest souls I ever had the pleasure of knowing and meeting. I realise none of you will have know this guy, but he was a truly great man. The world is at a loss for his untimely passing. Thanks Rick for all the memories and for selling me my first proper mountain bike, even more reason now for me to hang that frame on the wall in your honour. Thanks for letting me hang out in your store for hours on and end and just chatting about bikes. May you be riding in heaven and amongst the stars.
