  1. Saw it this weekend. The stealth fork and shock are giveaways .. @Iwan, it's been so long since I've seen you, you really have changed. And why don't you greet, or don't you respond to "Iwan" anymore.. next you will be changing your name to Duncan or something?!
  2. Nick, Nick, Nick. It needs bar ends.
  3. I found everything you weren't talking about!
  4. Watched a channel last night my kid chose out of curiosity for the remote.. Soweto TV. If you want perspective of how humanity is failing in the townships, there are a few programs that deal with crime issues. One point made in the human trafficking saga is that all respect for neighbours is lost, there is no longer a sense of ubuntu. The lady made a plea to take interest and treat [the roadies] as family, know their trouble and stand together in hard times.. Sadly this has been lost in the suburbs for many years and crime is now on the doorstep. It is only with vigilance that it is pushed back again.
  5. This month we we offer more love to the Switchback trail (Bridal path). We reached the halfway point in July and need to tackle the rest which is by far the worst. This needs to be a playful trail again and to get it back to the playfulness lost to erosion, we need your help! Tokai parking at 9am (long trek up, don't miss the lift) Bring gloves, water, a tool of your choice.. See you there!
  6. Yip. I think a new (August) thread is due.
  7. I'm meeting with the Community Police Forum this week or next to help get them up to speed on the growing issue. BKM, TNCW and CPF all work together.. seems the obvious groups to involve in the Constantia valley for security.
  8. Now that's quite interesting. I wonder if it conforms to the accepted laws of physics?
  9. The clean lines and the Haven wheels work well. I love those wheels!! Yeah, the 203 will likely be overkill for the weight it adds. 180 at the back is also largely unnessasary but this all depends on the bite from the brakes. If they are a bit underpowered you may want to look at bleeding first and as a last resort, larger rotor.
  10. My problem is I work facing the bike. It has a spot in the bay window where the light catches it just in the spot that says, "Let's go!" My story is that on the Reign I bought in 05, it was specced with a 120mm fork. I swapped this out a year later for a 140mm Fox Vanilla RLC - transformed my riding. Then a year later swapped it out for a 160mm Fox VAN RC2.. do I have to state the obvious.. I've not looked back and still ride the same trails over the same distances. All day treks or shuttle days, bring it. In short, stop saving money you will inevitably land up spending on the wrong bike.
  11. c'mon Crow, spill the beans already.. Tell me this is in the right thread.

  13. Huh, did I just read, "singletrack will be converted into jeeptrack" ??? I feel a facepalm coming on!
  14. Wow, I do decree that's a mighty fine steed!
  15. I can see the problem with my suggestion.. BUT anything is better than what these poop factories currently produce.. it's been years but I still shudder.
  16. Cup of cement will fix him good 'n propah!
  17. Ambitious riding DH1 with baby Ben on your back.
  18. As is my Bell Super! I find the white stripe a bit garish, never thought I'd want stickers adorning my helmet but I think I found a use for them after-all.
  19. Helen was involved on twitter, where did that interest go? The police in hot spot areas need to be educated on the severity of bike crime. Rob, you did this quite successfully on the north side of the mountain. Until they are made aware of bike value and increased personal risk with each attack, they just see it as a stolen bike and this doesn't really ring any alarm bells. Same issue here in Tokai, it was like the cops were stuck in thick molasses while several people jumped up and down trying to get them to respond. It's better now with the detectives but still not where it should be with the station staff and they are the first respondents.
  20. Firing off emails to people living in an area where snitching is taken seriously, life-threatening even, does not sound much like a solution. The concept makes perfect sense but we don't have to live there...
  21. huh?? Hope you didn't say that in the email.
  22. Interesting thing, my bike was also designed by Pat and no hole here either. Seatpost thing was working fine until I got a Lev dropper, now I have to drill.
