  1. 92292Not In StockBlack 100mm -10 Deg 31.8mm Clamp 898.89 ZAR They dont have the one i need in stock, and besides I would still have to pay VAT and shipping on top of that. And considering the local price was around R600, with that saving, I can live with the upside down face plate.
  2. Great shop, with great service! These guys built up my System Six last week, and thier service was freindly and very good! Ill definitly continue to support Alex.
  3. Watch this space, im still working on that one! Where do you think all the old Chorus bits are going...
  4. Para, when i find this bike for sale at a good price ill consider it... The 2002 F3000SL! I dont know why, but its still my all time favourte looking Cannondale hardtail MTB!
  5. Wow i like that Crux, Nice Job!
  6. You know how hard it was to find a second cage to match the first? i bought one in 2006, and was only able to find another early this year. An besides they are the same, except for the small carbon arms that hold the bottle around the middle (and the 6 odd grams difference in weight!). The bottle cage on the seat tube doesnt need them, as the bottle is held upright and stays in place due to gravity. But on the down tube the bottle tends to vibrates out of the cage (dont ask me how, but believe me i have lost enough bottles racing in the bunches to know that it is pretty dangerous), and those extra carbon 'arms' hold the bottle securley in place. So thats my reasoning for that
  7. Its been a long dark winter, but ive been around. Just missed all the Rooival races due to various commitments. But dont worry ill be there as soon as spring comes along. Planning on making my debut at the Zoo lake crit!
  8. Sorry double post Zaskar2008-08-08 05:27:39
  9. You can take it for a test ride next time we ride Sugarbush, and then tell me!
  10. Considering i bought the frame, brakes, saddle and wheels from hubbers, the only thing that i paid RRP for were the stem and bars. The groupset i got at good prices from friends, and the seatpost was imported from CRC. I worked it out lastnight, and it cost me 46% of the replacment value!
  11. Yay, finally finished building up my road bike to my ultimate spec. Its taken a while, but im really happy with it and i can honestly say it rides like a dream . Check out https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=20621 for pics when i got her. She has lost a bit of weight since then, and is now just on the legal limit (incl pedals cages etc). Not bad for a big 58cm frame! What you guys think? Anything else I could change? (PS. thanks Crux for helping me out with getting some of the bits! )
  12. Do yourself a favour and go ride a mountain bike out in Epping Forrest in Essex just north of London. I used to head out there for the entire day, and it was awesome. Its huge, stretching something like 25km? and you can easily ride for the whole day without riding the same trail twice. check it out here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epping_Forest From the wikipedia article.. Mountain biking Epping Forest attracts large numbers of mountain bikers. Mountain biking is generally permitted except around the Iron Age camps, Loughton Brook and other ecologically or geomorphologically sensitive areas. Despite clear signposting, a minority of mountain bikers continue to cause damage in these areas,[11] and the Conservators of Epping Forest have expressed their concern.[12] A number of clubs organise rides, particularly on Sunday mornings. Epping Forest was considered as a venue for the mountain-biking event of the 2012 Summer Olympics, though the final choice was Weald Country Park near Brentwood, Essex. As far as renting a bike, look up Wades Cycles in Essex, (on the way to the park). They should be able to help you out! Good Luck and take some pics!
  13. Why not have a comments section under the members profile where you can leave a comment about the person? Like if a sale went well you can leave some positive feedback. Maybe even a simple 5 star rating system that each person commenting could use? If someone leaves negative feedback its up to the member to contact the person commentating, and then they could sort it out privatly. Once its all cleared, the person commenting could go back edit or delete his post, and all will be well. Maybe also a table where a hubber can list all of the deals he has concluded, and the items he has bough or sold. The other person involved could also be listed, and then anyone wanting to buy something from the hubber could check his profile page, and see how many deals he or she has concluded, and with whom. He could then contact via PM any of the other parties for their feedback on how the deal went. It would be in the best interest of the hubber to keep the table updated, as it would provide evidence that he or she could be trusted. What you guys think of those ideas?
  14. I was about to say, ive bought from Simon on a few occasions, and had nothing but excellent dealings with him!
  15. Contact Arnold at J & J, he should sort it out no problem. Ive had nothing but great service from him in the past. Mail him on arnold at jjcycling co za
  16. Nice bike, same saddle and wheels as mine!
  17. The "8" refers to the caliper being for a 205mm disc. Ive got exactly the same brake system, an old M4 with a number 8 caliper. Hope made the M4 in a 3, 5, 6 & 8 caliper referring to the rotor sizes of 145, 165, 185 & 205mm respectively. Big H's M4 is a Mono M4, one of the newer models.
  18. Depends on the top tube length. Ive got a 60cm colnago, and im 183cm tall.
  19. Funny i was thinking the same thing this morning! Was thinking maybe i should get rid of the Boras and get a set of those nice tubless Corima Carbon Clinchers i saw on Swifts site!
  20. Thats a nice looking frame! Did Schwinn pay royalties to Pantani for that colour scheme?
  21. Check this size guide, taken from the Scott website a few years back. May only be relevant to compact frames (Scott in particular) but it should give you an idea... Zaskar2008-07-15 08:49:21
  22. Im still not convinced about the looks. I like the current DA crankset much more. And at $2600 (competitivecyclist.com) ill rather go for Super Record which is about the same price.
