  1. @ DJR......
  2. C40 HP with diamond chain stays.
  3. B-stay introduced on Mk3.
  4. Initial C40 seat stays.
  5. Some history on the C40 courtesy of: http://brown-snout.com/cycling/tech/_colnago-c40-family-tree.pdf C40 variants – introduced 1993-94. made famous by guys like museeuw, ballerini, tafi, bartoli, dekker, and bettini. • mk-1 – "the original" full carbon tube-and-lugs with the traditional rear triangle and constant-diameter downtube. these are generally found with a steel colnago precisa fork, but can be found with a similar looking alloy colnago fork as were used in the carbitubo. these will also have traditional down-tube shifter bosses. • mk-2 – continue with the traditional rear triangle, but introduced a tapered/flared downtube to stiffen up the BB. the chainstays were also beefed up – moved from a slim round profile to a taller oval profile, again to stiffen the BB. these also saw the introduction of the threaded shifter bosses integrated to the lower HT lug. at some point they moved to the Star carbon fork as an option, not sure if that was a late mk-1 or early mk-2 change – but came with the introduction of a threadless setup. note that you will often find C40s with a threadless steel precisa, as well! eventually went exclusively to the Star fork. note: colnago made several small running changes from year to year for these first 2 variants and i'm not sure that there was a really hard/fast cut from mk-1 to mk-2...it was almost constant evolution. • mk-3 – introduced the wishbone B-stay seatstay design. the chainstay/BB lug area was slightly reshaped, possibly to improve BB stiffness. also, at some point along the mk3-4 evolution they moved from an aluminum BB insert to a much more durable titanium insert. • mk-4 – introduced the diamond-cutout HP-stay chainstay design and name-change to "C-40HP". you may also find some that have a Force fork instead of the Star. • mk-5 – went to 1.125" front-end spec and larger tube diameters in the main triangle...also known as the C50!!! ;-)
  6. MA SE HARE!
  7. PCS 10 clamp is easier to use than the PCS 9. Nothing wrong with the PCS-9 with that being said. I have the 10 and it works for all bikes. The stands where you position fork and bb on is not suited for all frames. I think CRC has a sale on currently for PCS 10 for 1800 ex vat and post.

  12. If the formula works don't mess with it. I see the C64 as an upgraded C60. I am happy they kept the lugs, added some aero tweeks, made it lighter, rerouting some cables for a cleaner look, the assymetric stays etc. if I had the money I would definitely buy one.
  13. Talk about a morning glory. YASSISS!
  14. There is always the option of sorting your seeding out at the expo on the Friday and Saturday. When do you get in to Cape Town?
  15. If you feel you are not ready then come ride anyway and have a chilled ride and stop off ever so often on the route to experience the festivities. All too often we are chasing a PR and forget to enjoy the World Fun Ride Championships. I sometimes envy the real fun riders and the ones that rock up in a fancy dress costume just to ride and have real fun.
  16. Something like £12000 (200000 Randelas)
  17. All welcome.
  18. Virgin Active Greenpoint about 7am and we ride to Suiker and back for coffee at Shift in Greenpoint Main road. Should be about 40k.
  19. This one ☝????
  20. Buy the frame module (no duties) and build it up yourself. A complete bike as many have said carry extra duties besides the vat,
  21. Pornworthy build. Lightweigh cockpit, cages and hoops. THM crankset, Red E-tap, etc, etc. We demand a full spec sheet on this porn star. Are those THM Fubula brakes?
  22. Seems bikebug.com already taking orders for new C64. Some features of new frameset. Features
Fork - The C64’s monocoque, carbon fiber fork is designed to support the integrated front-brake body with mounts for housing the dual-pivot system. The design of the fork is also integrated with the shape of the front lug, providing even more aerodynamics.
Bottom Bracket - The C64 uses Colnago’s ThreadFit 82.5 standard. It will be available to purchase with Ceramic Speed bottom bracket. Carbon Rear Dropouts - The C64 uses carbon monocoque dropouts, with an internally- mounted, replaceable derailleur hanger. Seatpost (included) - To maximize aerodynamics and integration, they used a special seatpost for the C64 measuring 27.2mm. Seat Tube - Constructed from a single piece, from the base to the apex, the C64’s seat tube is lighter and, above all, more rigid. Brakes - The C64’s front and rear brakes are direct-mount. Disc Brake - Similarly to all Colnago high-end models, C64 is also available as a disc brake version (May 2018) Seat Clamp - The seat clamp is integrated into the top tube for a cleaner aesthetic and improved aerodynamics. Asymmetrical chain stays - On the right side (transmission side), the frame dimensioned as big as possible, while the left side is oversized. Headset - The headset’s body is made with a special polymer, composed of carbon fiber and a unique mixture of nylon and elastomers. This feature provides additional absorption of road vibration, improving both the riding experience and comfort. Bottle Cage - The wind tunnel tests performed on the Concept and V2-r models led us to study additional aerodynamic advantages for the C64. Based on their findings, it was decided to lower the plane on the diagonal (down) tube where the bottle cage is mounted. Fixed (mechanical) cable plates - They are made of polymer material for greater ease in assembly of the frame, better compatibility and a sensible weight savings. Integrated bottom bracket cable-guide - It is integrated into the mold of the bottom bracket lug.
  23. It would be advisable to only buy the framest (which includes seatpost and integrated handlebar/stem) therefore no duties. Frame: $3219 (39030) Postage: $169 (2050) Vat + handling: R3718 Total : R44798
