  1. Tickets are actually not that expensive especially around that time. You can pay anything from R7000 to as low as R4000 all depends on which airline as well as when you want to go. My brother stays in Muscat and I would have been in for this, but we've got our moms 80th here that weekend . Maybe 2016... Those mountains are hectic, trust me I have walked them.

I have actually tried it on and although it is slightly bigger it is slimmer and just more rounded. The screen's usage of the available real estate is much better than the V800 imo. Feels much better on the arm to me personally. That was the main reason I loved my RCX5...and still have it

Looks so much sexier than the V800!! The look really appeals to me Although the m400 is more of a running watch it still has support for other sports such as cycling. Here is a nice comparison http://versus.com/en/polar-m400-vs-polar-v800
  4. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/145622-dragon-peaks-drakensberg/ Heres one so long apologies for the mud on the lens my bad. Created a seperate post under videos since this is for pics ....

  6. Top of my ride on Saturday at Dragon Peaks Drakensberg. Wish I could share more of the videos etc. Such an awesome spot to ride. Crunching short climbs and awesome flowing and technical singletrack mix.

I am more worried because it lasts almost too long to be true. Even after 2 hours trail running a gym session and then wearing all day it still only takes about 5 to 10 min to fully charge again. Doing some longer rides etc this weekend so will check then.

You complain even more than I do ... There are three levels of activity that you can choose under Diary>Activity Summary>Daily activity Goal (bottom of the screen right) Your daily activity goal is determined by the activity level you have chosen (Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3). High, medium and low intensity activity, such as jogging, walking and household chores, respectively, all contribute to reaching your daily activity goal. Durations for activities are the same for people of all ages, men and women. However, age and gender affect the intensity you need to reach your Daily activity goal. The younger you are, the more intense your activity needs to be, and men require higher intensity activities to reach their goal than women. The goal is based on the average fitness level of people of certain age and gender. If it seems to you that your daily activity goal is very easy to reach you can change your activity level choice. This way you’ll get a more demanding daily activity goal. LEVEL 1 If your day includes only a little sports and a lot of sitting, commuting by car or public transport and so on, we recommend you pick this activity level. LEVEL 2 If you spend most of your day on your feet, perhaps due to the type of work you do or your daily chores, this is the right activity level for you. LEVEL 3 If your work is physically demanding, you’re into sports or otherwise tend to be on the move and active, this is the activity level for you. This takes into account your movement (steps) etc. so normal activity and your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) and then also training. I do however agree that there needs to be a fourth setting for a "Free" mode as it is way too easy to reach these activity goals. I have just done a floor session at the gym this morning burning 791kCal and then been up since 4 etc. and I am set to a level 3 (highest) and already I am on 119%. On high intensity training days (MTB, Trail Run etc.) I can get up to around 400% !! So maybe #PolarGlobal can look into this.

Few more changes that need to happen but it's getting better .... FLOW for ANDROID!!!!
  12. Groenkloof is safe. Don't go to Fountains. I run at Groenkloof 3 times a week and cycle there and theres always plenty people and some really nice trails. The yellow route is just over 10ks and transitions through some nice differrent terrain.
  13. hehe very cool!!!! On my bucket list for sure!!

I have uploaded exercises this morning but have also had the issue. Restarting the Polar Flow app sorted it out for me...

hehehe. You know what yes I think it's the 50% German in me that wants to have everything the right way!! But if you pay, what I think is a fair amount of money to be forking out on a training device, then it should be good. Otherwise find something that is. I like the SUUNTO brand as well and will have a bit of a look into it this weekend. Ok here's another complaint hehehe. How easily do you find the buttons to operate especially when busy training?

    Polar V800

Nope only on your phone .... Another peev as the android app is not due till December 2014 .... It is apparently coming to the watch at some point. But that's the sort of thing that makes it feel incomplete to me personally..

    Polar V800

My thoughts exactly and it's not really that Polar is a small concern worldwide. From there my statement that I think they just pushed to get it to market asap and then fix (almost do QA on it as they get requests complaints from users). Small things like inactivity alert ... why is it not on the watch with a quick vibrate or whatever. It's of no use knowing tomorrow or next week for that matter that yesterday I should have gotten up and walked around a bit or whatever. Gimmicky functionality that should either not be there or properly thought through. Another thing which I am missing is the Heart Rate Optimizer which sets your zones according to current training load or status as per previous units I have used. Which SUUNTO would be on a comparable level to this? I'm ok thanks. Knee is still too stiff/sore to get back on the bike but have been spending some time in the gym so all's ok

    Polar V800

Sorry man had a handlebar snap on me on Saturday so have only been doing floor sessions in the gym as my ride on Sunday saw me pulling out after 18ks as my knee was just too sore. I have the same issue though, it seems that (although my fitness level has recently been assessed and I am very fit at the moment) I cannot get it up high enough to register in the strained sort of area. Apart from that quite a few other things that irritate / frustrate me such as daily activity - I want to be able to see what that is made up of steps etc on my watch. Also on weekly summary on the watch there are simply three screens there are only screens for duration and zones. I want to know much more than that on the watch otherwise I can sell the watch and use my phone with a bluetooth HRM! So yeah to me at the moment a bit of an ornament really much more than a proper fitness / sport watch. #polarglobal
  21. Hi Bruce Thanks man! It's a direct mount

Nope definitely not if I do that or press any of the other two buttons on the right it slides an information screen in which merely states the current status. When was your last update done?
