  1. It is so incredibly sad that such a small mistake can cost you your life. As a former motorbike rider then racer, I've heard so many times of guys that never fell, until that one time. Others get to fall multiple time per year with no consequences... Other thing I've been thinking of is that I stopped racing motorbikes because at some point I found the fun I was getting out of it wasn't worth the money and the risk at this point in my life with two little kids. And now every 3 months someone I know more or less closely passes away or gets life-changing injuries during training...
  2. Why would people share photos of a fatal accident on whatsapp, I'll never understand... Just heard that a mate from Table View passed away this morning, not sure at this point if it's the same accident. This is so ******* sad... The guy already survived an almost fatal accident a few years ago and was vlogging his whole recovery.

  4. Nah thatโ€™s great ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ
  5. I wouldn't race on the F1's, I have in the past, and I could tell some of my races were harder on them than they were on the Pro Ones or GP5K. Maybe it was all in my head, you believe it or not, but after 2/3 killarney races on them I went back to the GP5000 and instantly felt quicker. I wish the Pro One had better puncture resistance, I loved this tyre, but I was just getting too many punctures on them, also you must factor durability when you think cost. If you must replace a tyre every 4000km instead of 8000, and if it's not more than half the price, then is it really cheaper ? In the end I almost only train on my gravel bike partly because the tyres don't wear and are bullet proof (I'm yet to see sealant come out of them, after 2 years of training on it), and pretty much only race on my road bike, so the tyres last forever. I do admit though that they are *** expensive, and part of the reason why I don't ride my road bike is because the last time I rode over a stone and slashed my rear tyre, I kinda felt like crying ๐Ÿคฃ If I wasn't racing and only riding to enjoy, to be honest I'd only ride the gravel bike (comfort, grip, traction on the brakes to avoid all the dangers on the road..), but if I didn't have one then yes, I'd probably be riding the F1s, or doing a bit of research to find something that has good puncture protection and wet grip. On my bike in france I have some specialized mixed conditions tyre, it's *** slow but at least it has grip in the wet.
  6. Thatโ€™s why we have gravel bikes ๐Ÿ˜œ
  7. there's only one right answer, it's GP 5000, they're the right mix between speed, puncture protection and durability.
  8. ahah both, last year below uitkyk was really bad, both sides of the valley, didn't ride above the pass
  9. Anyone been Algeria area recently ? Last time I rode there the roads were super corrugated and it was a rough ride on the crux. Wonder how it's going to be now for Ceder
  10. we were 30/35secs ahead of you with Tom when we took that turn, and we had to stop because we also missed it, you were not looking at us in front nor at your GPS. Must have been some nice views at this point of the race ๐Ÿ˜… I kept looking over my shoulder expecting to see you at some point for the rest of the race, was a big surprise when I saw Waldo/Etnard and some other guy in blue after turning around into that headwind gravel climb after the road part. I was expecting some orange there for sure ! You did a great climb, pitty about the descent
  11. Like the next one... Thanks everyone, involved, was a lekker race, for once we're not sent out on MTB trails with gravel bikes ! Anyone knows who was the photographer there ?
  12. Can you confirm that "CALL TIME" in the email means registration ? Because I can't go to registration before tomorrow morning
