  1. are you not doing ceder ?
  2. All good, Pogi won't need him anyways
  3. we were 30/35secs ahead of you with Tom when we took that turn, and we had to stop because we also missed it, you were not looking at us in front nor at your GPS. Must have been some nice views at this point of the race 😅 I kept looking over my shoulder expecting to see you at some point for the rest of the race, was a big surprise when I saw Waldo/Etnard and some other guy in blue after turning around into that headwind gravel climb after the road part. I was expecting some orange there for sure ! You did a great climb, pitty about the descent
  4. Like the next one... Thanks everyone, involved, was a lekker race, for once we're not sent out on MTB trails with gravel bikes ! Anyone knows who was the photographer there ?
  5. Can you confirm that "CALL TIME" in the email means registration ? Because I can't go to registration before tomorrow morning
  6. *me dropping .5 bars on my tires 😄 Ja that's a must, there's often kids messing around with the marking, and okes complain about missing turns
  7. I’ve got 10-50 and a 46T chainring, and I do all my training on the gravel bike. I do not need a harder gear, occasionally mike for gallows 8 need easier gears (went 10-52 and a 42T for that one) i would recommend mullet setup if you’re not too difficult with your cadence, with a massive cassette you’ve got the range and enough gears, you’ll only really be on the extremes of the cassettes if it’s stupid fast (like road descent) or stupid steep, the rest of the time it’s a straight chainline. i’d stay away feom shimano for 1x as their 10T cogs are crap and after 2 sprints they slip. But if you go 2x, then I’d go shimano because their front shift works.
  8. ja okay, that one was a bit *** even on 46/50
  9. I missed that part, did you get a gpx file ? Might then put the 10-52 on... Not sure if I want to put on the small chainring though, at Gallows it was really *** on the fast/flat sections
  10. yasss, so keen to go racing again !! been a minute

    Gravel tyres

if I were you i'd probably go for the g one super race (maybe do some research on the durability of these tyres) or the challenge strade (but same, probably not as durable). I'm currently back on Pathfinders as they seem to be the best allrounder for my use, but that includes racing on all sorts of gravel. These tyres roll pretty well on road and I haven't see their limit yet in durability, I ended up removing my 42s mostly because i wanted to go 47, they still had a lot of life in them
  12. true (for the 1st part), for the 2nd part, well it's your problem
  13. yeah, it's difficult though, as technically, it is always forbidden (even if there's a mechanical), only tolerated in that case but as an unwritten rule. I reckon the rules should change, if you need a new bike due to a mechanical issue, the new bike must be same spec + old bike will be inspected, then you're allowed to draft. Otherwise you're on your own
  14. I was alone, a few dozen meters behind you, but turned left just before the bridge to head towards the railway
  15. is it possible that I saw you passing the silos over the railway on your way to durbanville? White helmet ? When I saw the bike I thought it must have been you
  16. Puddles inspection this morning. Unfortunately there’s still a ton of standing water and mud, not sure how long it will take to go back to normal. Was still a good ride 😊
  17. I never thought I'd be so happy to see a spanish guy win. What a ride, wow..
  18. Yeah, I guess he is a tool in the end 🤣
  19. I'm almost having fomo
  20. Looking forward to it actually, I haven't been feeling like racing with the current conditions because it's *** going at 40kph by 4° (even worse if it's wet), but now I'm kind of missing the racing. So unless the forecast is really **** I'll be there, I entered a while ago
  21. Roglicz : "O'connor ? Never heard of her"
  22. Was he pictured as a tool in the netflix docu ? I remember him being an athlete having a hard time to step down from his Leaders role to Domestique, but then eventually enjoying helping Gall and not having the pressure anymore. Definitely not on a same level as Pidcock ? I think he was just being a champ and willing to hold on/fulfill his leaders role until it was obvious he was not number 1 anymore, can't expect it to be easy for them to step down.
  23. they have a very good climber indeed, but he's not ozzie 😅
  24. 40sec on a rider of Roglic caliber is actually way better than I thought ! He might actually have a shot, although after seing him sit up mid climb on a few occasions at TdF I wouldn't really put my money on him. Will be interesting to watch ! Edit : was a 12km TT, the final one is double the distance, so can expect over a minute and half difference ?
  25. yeah, if roglic takes him 3 mins in the upcoming days in the mountain, there is a possibility for him to take 2 mins on O'connor in the final TT you reckon ? how's o'connor's TT ?
