  1. Thanks dale I owe you one 🫶
  2. eat as much as you can and do nothing between stages (Ideally just eat in front of the TV with your legs up if you can, until the next stage)

    SRAM XDR vs XD

Ah ok my bad, it does click in, just not all the way because you must thread it in from the other side: https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+fit+a+XD+compatible+cassette+on+xdr+body&rlz=1C1MSIM_enZA723ZA723&oq=how+to+fit+a+XD+compatible+cassette+on+xdr+body&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i64.7435j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#kpvalbx=_0rL5Y8aNIYqagQb-qbnQBw_38 Sho... so now to find that spacer
  4. ooookay so my folks arrived from france with : - Rival AXS hoods / brake calipers - XO 12spd cassette - Lùn "12spd sram XDR" freehub body Thing is now the XDR freehub doesn't click into the XO cassette (that is XD compatible "only"). Yet in was the only option available for 12spd sram and winspace never mentionned that it would only be compatible with road groups or anything like that. On the internet they say : What I don't understand and that you can see on the photo, is that no, the splines don't match, the XDR has irregular notches when the XD are regular (all the same size) How can a 1.85mm spacer fix that ? Does this mean I can just sell my XO cassette and find a force cassette instead?
  5. @DieselnDustyour thoughts on this ? https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/power-meters/595098/power-2-max-ng-cannondale-powermeter-boost the pattern doesn't match exactly the pattern here : https://csixx.com/products/tt-chainring-cannondale-si (because of the two flat sections), but not exactly sure how the inside of the driveside crankarm looks like exactly.. Edit : mmmh it is the right one tho : https://www.bicyclepower.co.za/collections/power2max/products/power2max-ngeco-mtb-cannondale-power-meter-ai
  6. It’s elite, agecats and open i’m sure you can contact the org for a late entry !
  7. It rubbed against the rear brake hose just deep enough that you can feel it with your nail can’t see another explaination, especially since the offset has been very stable since. I’m sure there a world where you can reset the unit on the current state of the crank, but stages just told me to put it in rice basically 😜 If I could transfer it to my spare crank arm that is brand new that would be cool but doubt they can move it from the one to the other… So power2max spider you say ? There’s a 2nd hand one on the hub. What should I check ? It looks like it has a few hours… That power2max full crank is brand new and still under warranty though… but it would suck to find out it doesn’t fit Rotor not option, I had a unit for less than 6 months, battery cap was the crapiest design ever, it enventually stopped working and warranty was voided because of that cap. Plus it was over reading big time, making the next couple of years a challenge having to accept the fact I wasn’t ask strong as I thought 😜😜
  8. 1) so that means keeping my current 175 ? 2) I'll go take pic of why I believe my stages has gone drunk
  9. Reviving the scalpel gurus thread here : I currently have a stages 175 hollowgram crank with a stages non drive side power meter that I don't trust at all (overnight the calibration offset was way off from the manufacturer bracket, and it's been consistently at the same level since, and since then the reading seem a bit random, sometimes seems quite optimistic, sometimes the opposite. Not great for confidence) Anyways, I'm looking for solutions here, I could go the spider way, and keep my current crank. Probably the best "weight wise". But I'm not of fan of the idea of having 172.5 on two out of three bikes. I don't know if it's the *** power meter but the last few rides I did on the MTB I felt *** compared to my other bikes... Maybe it was just under reading, maybe the difference in crank and fit made it hard... I could go for power pedals, but Rally 100 are nearly 500g and pricey. Sucks to have a top of the range high mod cannondale and anchor pedals on it. Last solution would be to go for a full power crankset, problem is MTB specific cranks come in 170 or 175 (Xcadey, quarq...). I've found a power2max on the hub that is 172.5, but two things on my mind : - the small one is the 104 BCD, meaning it's going to be almost MTB only, unless I get a custom CSIXX 44/46T ring made if I want to put it on the gravel bike later - the bigger on is the offset : scalpels seem a bit funny when it comes to offsets. Out of the box I already had issues, where on the XTR AND AXS I'd have it work smoothly on only half the cassette the second the drivetrain is dirty i'd start having noises or worse on the upper side of the cassette.. Non drive side crankarm is a no go, Stages products I had nothing but issues with, and unfortunately 4iiii doesn't do hollowgram, and I'm not willing to buy a new crankset to end up again with 175 (XTR for eg). Thoughts ? What should I do to keep the bike relatively light, is it worth trying to get all bikes at 172.5 ?
  10. dropper post and suspension....meh... I'm at a point where either it's fast rolling and you want a normal fast gravel bike, or it's rocky and you want a hardtail or a full sus. This seems to be another in-between... I've already got 3 bikes, no thanks 🤣
  11. So @babse, how do we cause "incidents" ? I'm on my way to the store to buy push pins, hopefully he's not on tubeless
  12. Ok I only see km from the gear tab, but from the activities tab I can filter by bike and dates. Pretty cool (and it also counts private activities !)
  13. never too early for bikehub
  14. I'm getting the feeling that a few people might have enough of all this BS and won't enter next year when the fee is R850 For rentals you can also try Cycling friends
  15. They're going to need F1 engines to generate enough watts to charge the batteries
  16. https://results.finishtime.co.za/results.aspx?CId=35&RId=3914 The only organiser that adds a red header to their website with a link to results šŸ’Ŗ
  17. There are a few (not many) but I’ve seen a couple in the area, I think riding for CCC and DVCC
  18. if I could improve my 5mins PB by 12w I can tell you it would be a big deal for me 🤣
  19. I haven't looked at the rules about it, but if it's like last year in open and they mix the 2 days riders with the 4 days riders, it will be a bit weird. Fresh riders joining for the "queen stage" if we can call it that just because of Hels+DuToits finish will definitely hurt the guys that already have 2 stages in the legs
  20. oh come on.... 😭
  21. anything went wrong last year ? I thought except for riding the same routes every day it was pretty well organised. If I had one thing to complain about it was the fact that we had to wear both numbers on at all times (including the TT), not folded, not cut, no big deal...
  22. Ran out of hill to confirm 😁 Let's find out next week !
  23. yeah all the guys with elite licence and in the major teams shouldn't worry, organiser's best interest is to have a competitive field. Although it looks like they're moving to an invite-only $ field. Surely they will invite all the major national teams and complete with a few other strong guys. For us we'll see, will anyways try my luck at the expo and if it doesn't work so be it.
  24. At the moment there's 0 people in the $ group. All the guys with an Elite racing licence haven't been seeded yet. And it seems that among the subvets/vets/masters, it's a been random between @ and &. For BleedToWin, Babse and I the weirdest part is that our age cat (30+) isn't &. Some @ that I know, despite their higher index than us it's understandable because they are 40+. But I've seen in @ guys that aren't 40+ too, it really doesn't make sense and the reply I got from the organiser show 0 interest in looking into it. Whatever the group I end up with I'll give it my best, if not to get the best possible result (ranking), at least to get the best possible time.
  25. Pretty awesome, all PM should have that setting, even though it would be admitting they aren't really 1.5% accurate... but let's face it, even if they were, if your 1 unit reads -1.5 and the other +1.5, the 3% different is big at 400w What I've seen on mine is that the Xcadey read +5.5% over my 4iiii, the 4iiii read pretty much the same as my Quarq. I did a workout on my Kickr, measuring the differences between the 4iiii and the kickr, then the Xcadey and the Kickr. Differences went up to +8%! My kickr seems to read very very low. I decided to stick to what my 4iiii / quarq read because I had 2years worth of data. Before that I had a rotor that read more like the xcadey, some numbers I did 3 years ago I still haven't improved today... 🤣
