  1. Ran out of hill to confirm 😁 Let's find out next week !
  2. yeah all the guys with elite licence and in the major teams shouldn't worry, organiser's best interest is to have a competitive field. Although it looks like they're moving to an invite-only $ field. Surely they will invite all the major national teams and complete with a few other strong guys. For us we'll see, will anyways try my luck at the expo and if it doesn't work so be it.
  3. At the moment there's 0 people in the $ group. All the guys with an Elite racing licence haven't been seeded yet. And it seems that among the subvets/vets/masters, it's a been random between @ and &. For BleedToWin, Babse and I the weirdest part is that our age cat (30+) isn't &. Some @ that I know, despite their higher index than us it's understandable because they are 40+. But I've seen in @ guys that aren't 40+ too, it really doesn't make sense and the reply I got from the organiser show 0 interest in looking into it. Whatever the group I end up with I'll give it my best, if not to get the best possible result (ranking), at least to get the best possible time.
  4. Pretty awesome, all PM should have that setting, even though it would be admitting they aren't really 1.5% accurate... but let's face it, even if they were, if your 1 unit reads -1.5 and the other +1.5, the 3% different is big at 400w What I've seen on mine is that the Xcadey read +5.5% over my 4iiii, the 4iiii read pretty much the same as my Quarq. I did a workout on my Kickr, measuring the differences between the 4iiii and the kickr, then the Xcadey and the Kickr. Differences went up to +8%! My kickr seems to read very very low. I decided to stick to what my 4iiii / quarq read because I had 2years worth of data. Before that I had a rotor that read more like the xcadey, some numbers I did 3 years ago I still haven't improved today... 🤣
  5. do they also come with a setting to correct the readings like Xcadey ? I think that is brilliant because let's face it, not often two power meters read the same, and when you train on different bikes it's nice to have some consistency.... I set my Xcadey to report 95% of what it reads... First time I did 5mins intervals on it I smashed my PB numbers 🤣
  6. Both not racetec events and vets cat (so unfortunately not rewarded the same anyways, despite the racing not often being easier) we have very similar index so we're in the same boat, and I know guys with a higher index AND older than us in @ so it makes 0 sense. Here's the answer I got from info@cycletour : The win at durbie dash is 2.76, so the 2 guys in SA that have a sub 2 index will have a lot of fun on race day (maybe the winner of 100 miler (Sid) and 947 ??), and it will be nice to watch on live stream too...
  7. wow where is this ?
  8. Thanks for the photos bud, I did not take the time to look at the views 🤣
  9. mmh I'm tempted to revisit the debate based on your last sentence though...
  10. The minister of home affairs wouldn't allow me out
  11. Haleakala, Maui 😜 Probably close to 10 years since the last time I’ve been there, at the time it was for windsurfing 😜
  12. Nice, what would be nicer is if they had stock on their new bikes 😭 Good thing I didn't wait for the new Reacto to be available and pulled the trigger on a 2021 model rather !
  13. of all the photos in this album he picked this one 😭
  14. I would just buy intervals.icu
  15. Just check on their seeding site, you'll see which race has been used/what your index is : http://seeding.cycletour.co.za/findme.aspx?ss=2&eid=2023
  16. I never paid for international entry. I was seeded $ for my 1st CTCT and at the time I didn't even know about licences. I had to buy one after I got seeded. Now it's the other way around 🤣 The only issue I have being foreign national is I can't race nationals (hopefully next year when I have my SA ID number I can apply for a ZA licence !
  17. Killarney world champs vs Cape Town world champs 🤣
  18. 7th at Durbie dash gave me 5,63 11th at West coast express 10,24 > both finishing in the bunch minutes behind the breakaway. 17th at PPA #1 (I did the leadout and cruised up the finish climb, still didn't finish far off the winning time) gave me 8,46 Not mentioning 99er since it looks nobody got a good index from it after A smashed $'s time 🤣 Surely the guys in the break got good seedings too, but tbh I don't see how Racetec found 100 guys who deserve a $ number more than I do.

  20. if they don't fix it I'm definitely keen for this plan. If the $ group looks at each other all race long like at 99er it would make a fun overall 🤣
  21. I'm almost tempted... although this route seems like the most boring of the season
  22. Weird thing is they already didn’t show a few days ago when I checked
  23. While @bleedToWin @babse and I are supposed to start with the 50+ šŸ˜‚
  24. I think many people do, because there’s no way all the guys I just tried to check the seeding haven’t entered !!
  25. I just received my email, that confirms the bs seeding there was on racetec. Getting unexcited very quickly 🤣
