  1. What SASCOC money?
  2. Yeah. TREAD will start to hit the shelves from tomorrow ? available at all good bike shops across the country.
  3. Correct. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=46862&PN=3
  4. The Swiss have never been known for their fashion, preferring to rather rest on laurels earned from watch-making, chocolate-making and of course taking part-ownership of Roger Federer. When, like Sauser, you have 16 World Cup wins, a marathon World Championship title and a cross-country World Championship title, you can wear your cap exactly how you like and it will be cool. People will either emulate how Sauser wears his caps or talk about it, as is being done here. Being talked about, or emulated, or both is of course the ultimate style compliment.
  5. The major difference between MTB and road for those just starting MTB is the lack of rhythm. On the road, the rhythm comes easily; offroad, you constantly have to fight for it. It's something you just have to expect and accept. It takes a few rides to get into mountain biking, but once you've got into it, you never want to get out...
  6. Never had to worry about this stuff cos I've always worked on Mac.
  7. wannabesub3, in the time is has taken you to start this topic and complain about the local retail market, you could have ordered your product from an online store (no doubt at a much cheaper price), had it delivered to your door and done a bike mechanic course so you that you never ever have to set foot in a bike shop again... 8. Shew. That's weird. I have two pairs of Assos bibs (one is a F1S13) which I have been wearing regularly since 2006. They've outlasted every other brand of bib shorts I have and continue to be my favourites.
  9. Arrange flexible work hours and take up mountain biking. You can ride in the middle of the day and not have to worry about traffic and winter kit...
  10. Great pics Ronelle and Tracz! Enjoy the DH tomorrow!
  11. Agreed. In mountain biking you half expect bad luck to strike at any moment so are much more relaxed when it does. Besides, it's a lot harder than road racing so you can get rid of your frustrations quickly!
  12. Yeti asr-sl aluminium - one of the best bikes I've ever ridden! Would highly recommend it.
  13. Oh dear. Let me guess, home-schooled?
  14. This just in... Competition Commission enquiry - Cycle Lab response In the recent enquiry made by the Competition Commission, it has been alleged that the cycling industry met to discuss possible price-fixing schemes on cycling equipment and collusion to ?drive up? margins. Cycle Lab, as one of the attendees of this meeting and as a leading retailer in the industry, would like to respond as follows: Late last year over 40 of the country?s cycling wholesalers and retailers were invited to gather in Johannesburg at an open conference to discuss the state of the industry. The aim of the forum was to generate solutions to overcome the effects of the economic recession, with the objective of helping all SA retailers develop a sustainable business. This meeting was not an attempt to fix industry pricing, as alleged by the Competition Commission, but rather assessing the cycling industry and establishing ways to align the South African market with current international trends. All parties present debated possible solutions. It has come to our attention that the minutes captured at this open forum were inaccurate and, based on this document, the Competition Commission felt compelled to launch an enquiry into the matter. However, all members present will attest to the actual intent of the meeting and, to ensure the matter is resolved, have undertaken to sign legal affidavits to this effect. As an attendee of the meeting, Cycle Lab believes that the conference was aimed at providing positive outcomes for the entire industry ? wholesalers, retailers and consumers ? and that, once the Commission has completed its enquiry, they will find that this meeting was held with the best intentions for all involved. As one the country?s leading cycle retailers, we would like to re-affirm our commitment to our consumers. Andrew McLean, Cycle Lab Director

  16. Looks like the Competition Commission has it's own set of challenges too. Here's a small speed bump they hit with the SA bank charges investigation last month: http://secure.financialmail.co.za/09/0116/moneyinvest/amoney.htm
  17. Hey wackwack. Post a pic of yourself so we can all see your perfection... Or better yet, post us the link to your z-card for the model agency you represent. Sean Badenhorst2009-03-06 08:27:33
  18. Makes a refreshing change. Normally the week before 'The Argus' the general media is telling us that cycling causes impotence.
