  1. Classic! I love it when Commonwealth country sports like cricket become dwarfed by truly international sports like soccer or athletics or cycling...
  2. Do a search on this site for ITB Syndrome. We've been over it a few times as it's almost has horrible as kidney stones, which I think we've only been over once...
  3. Just a thought, Sauser didn't get DQed from the race results when he was found guilty of 'taking out' Paulissen at last year's World's, just relegated from first to second. And that was on TV replays for all to see. Wonder what the UCI's requirements are for a rider to actually be DQed completely in this type of infringement? Anyone have time to check the UCI rules? 4. Burry Stander and Bunnie Loubser if I'm not mistaken. Great photo sequence of it somewhere...
  5. Results are up on winningtime.co.za
  6. Hey easy SB I"m not THAT old OK? hahah - I was in VA... Just heard you won VA. Well done! 5th at Barberton 75km MTB yesterday and then a road dash win today ? hybrid gene is strong in you...
  7. Oh ja, forgot! You seem a lot more mature though.
  8. I'm curious to hear how Blayne Wikner and Jacques Fullard went today. Anyone know?
  9. Who said anything about boxing? On a bike you don't need to box to make a point. Nah, they'll actually all race more international events this year, which means they'll have more opportunities to shine. I see Brandon's lost 5kgs in the past couple of months which will definitely improve his climbing - previously, his weakness... Jacques is pure class and I think has a bigger future in MTB than road, Max is only 21, Kevin and David are super-focussed ? expect possible win at Trans Alp from them (Epic is too technical). All to be top-20 finishers at Marathon Worlds, with at least two in top 10. Just my opinion...
  10. Don't attach the entire sport's future to one incident. In rugby, players get cited all the time and are punished accordingly. Same happened at Barberton. Testosterone is testosterone whether it's on a rugby field or a steep bushveld climb. Add some adrenaline, performance pressure and team tactics and you're bound to get a small explosion.
  11. Brilliant! I'd like to have an argument please?
  12. Goody bag! What for? It's a bicycle race not a picnic...
  13. Cycle Lab Supercycling they cater really well for all levels of road and MTB rider and particularly women.
  14. Be safe and be sure to post pics!
  15. Timing. If you get your timing wrong on any part of a jump, especially a big one, you're likely to end up with an undignified landing. This guy obviously expected to land earlier than he did and the landing gear (brain/nervous system/body) wasn't quite right. Hence the crash.
  16. Sounds like a great race! Hopefully with the introduction of Ultra-marathons ? 100km?plus we'll build a new generation of classic races and develop more world-class marathon riders. May you rest well today, Groot Lem...
  17. 4 pages of speculation at its best! Classic.
  18. Where is Spud these days? I like his male/female weight loss story. Says when he got divorced he got rid of 53kgs of undesirable female weight...
  19. Like I've said before. Where there's money to be won in a sport ? any sport ? there's performance enhancement of some sort. Human nature.
