  1. Took my new Machine out for a first road ride yesterday. Absolutely awesome, thanks to Neville and Lance at Epic Cycles for great service and setup.
  2. Damn, this is so unacceptable. I was jacked same area 4 weeks ago. Yes, I will be changing my training times to after work,or group mornings, so as to avoid the solo early mornings. I will be doing so in the interests of my safety, but it feels so much like I am giving in, and accepting this unacceptable state of affairs, and I wish I did not have to do that......
  3. Hi All, thanks for posting Meezo. It happened @5.20 on Zwaanswyk rd, coming from Tokai Circle. I noticed the supicious toyota earlier in my ride, coming out of the residential area just passed Blue Route Centre before the garage.4 people in vehicle. When they turned left at tokai circle direction ou kaapse weg, I though I was in the clear to go and do some intervals up Zwaanswyk. On that dark stretch of road after the entrance to the residentail complexes, before the left turn up Zwaanswyk, the vehicle was next to me, and bumped me off the road.I jumped clear off the bike. No lights, no number plate One guy jumped out, threatened to shoot me, had his hand behind his back as to pull out gun. I did not see the gun, but I was not gonna challenge him (something my psychologist needs to sort out). Anyways, other guy jumped out of car, climbed on bike and rode off. One was pulling cell etc out of my pockets, driver stayed in car, woman also jumped out of car and searched me. Very harrowing experience. Thanks to cyclists that stopped to assist. Before careful out there.
  4. It looks totally awesome. Indicative that the onda designs are outdated. I am sure this frame will perform as well as the best of the rest. My only issue is that the price will be unjustified.
  5. I am in Dale, lets do it.
  6. More info please. Who is this race catering for? Cat 2 Vets and Cat 3 Masters? Vets have normally been Cat 3, why now Cat2, what is different? Can a 46yr old enter Cat 3 Masters?
  7. Awesome WPCA. I like !!!!
  8. I am gonna give it a try. I am assuming that there will be a few like minded amateurs, striving for some good racing excitement and development. I am also thinking that more people should support (and the organisers will value and encourage such support), so that we grow our local racing calendar.
  9. Good thread. Thanks for the inputs. I will be travelling to UK and Belgium end March, was also toying with best mode of bike travel, have decided to leave bike at home, and rent one in Belgium, due to below mentioned fears.
  10. Not meaning to be insensitive...... does that mean that tonight will be like a 'social pace' mass ride around the track.
  11. Hi, Any hubbers going to Tour of Flanders in April? Any hubbers got advice on travelling on such trips? Any advice on tour operators. Are they worth the cost, or can the same be done through own planning? Thanks,
  12. try replacing batteries
  13. I use the Thule one, and I have no complaints.
  14. Hi, So Vets (40-49) in PPA C group can enter Cat 2 or Cat 3. Which category will fellow vets be choosing? Cat 2 with the Sub vets are gonna be a killer Cat 3 with the ladies is always motivating, but may also attract some 'open' D-G (overly risky males) Must one be a member of a club to join?
  15. The extension valves come with a plastic fitting to grip the top of the valve. the tubbie must not be fitted when you remove. if the tubby is deflated you can feel where the valve ends, and from the pic of the valve you can see where to grip. Alternatively take it to your lbs.
  16. Maybe you have this one. Entire valve screws off. Grip securely at base and twist
  17. DMC, I have air leaking out there only when I inflate the wheel, it does not continue. Assuming your case is the same as mine, dont replace tubbie, it is not buggered. Depending on the tubbie, they all lose pressure over a 'short' period of time. I just inflate before every ride. The leaking between the extension and tubbie is air leaking through the screw thread when you inflate. Fresh thread tape will solve problem, if tightening extension does not do the trick. Beware of over tightening and stripping the thread.
  18. I put Stans in my tubbies (road). Had a puncture a couple of months ago, and the sealant worked. When bombing it the puncture reopened, but sealed again at about 3-4bar. Was good enough to ride home on and fix permanently.
  19. Great Pics. It was a very lekker afternoon out, thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep it up Guys and Girls

    KILLARNEY

Looking forward to a nice turn out tonight.
  21. Very Nice CH. Where did you get the hanger?
  22. I fixed mine a few weeks ago, with Q20 lube. Loosened clamp, sprayed on a bit, left it over night, next morning used screw driver to pry open lip slightly, sprayed little more. 12 hours later, went back, twisted seat from side to side, eventaully got it loose.
  23. Hi, I am looking for an artistic / attractive wall mounting rack for my bike. Any ideas or contacts out there.
  24. I do use it, and it helps to keep the saddle sores away.
