  6. I have received a good quote from i-Cycle, but don't know how reputable or established they are. Has anyone dealt with them, claims experience etc.?

  9. In order to protest against the cyclist who was killed last Wednesday by a Golden Arrow bus, PPA is organising a silent protest to take place tomorrow, one week after the incident. The protest will take place on the pavement at the accident site at 174 Main Road, St James. Please join us there from 06h45-07h15. Parking is available at Muizenberg beach or the station. There is also a parking lot nearby. If you have one of the PPA safe cycling '1.5m' jerseys, please wear that. Black arm bands will be supplied. You are welcome to bring along friends and family members. Spread the word and let's get as many people there as possible - as we understand it, media will be there as well.

  13. And intervals, bring in some 1-1.5hr high intensity effort workouts. Start with 1 min max sprints , 3min rest , do 6-8 in a session.

  16. EESSSHHHH Guys and Gals !!! Weather does not look to good for the weekend. Hill Climb is not too bad in the rain, but the West Coast race on wet roads through the bends of Atlantis can be nasty.
  17. My Cannondale came fitted with the RS80-24's in 2010. I still have them. No problems. They are my training wheels now, 300km's per week avg. Stiff and light enough. Value for money

  19. I have fruit with my breakfast @ 07h00, and with yoghurt @10, so I do both
  20. I can afford it, and it takes away the desire to have a chocolate, or chips, or some other unhealthy snack (keeps me filled till supper time). Oh, and it is good for me
  21. Protein shake daily, 15h00. Recovery shake, within 30min after +3hr ride.
  22. Many Motorcycles have converted from chain to belt. Some of the advantages are reduced maintenance (time and cost), reduced noice etc. So I think there are advantages to cyclists that are worth investigating. It pays to keep an open mind, I wonder what was said about microwaves or tv in its early stages of development.
  23. In this instance, enough space for car to pass safely, no danger to anyone, no problem. Cyclists would most likely have single filed when they heard the car, out of courtesy giving the car more space. Cyclists have a right to cycle to, not just the 1/2m on the edge of the road. Chill and be more accommodating
