  3. I see no-one has commented on BBB's Squadra BBW-83 bibs? I'm also keen on buying my first bib shorts and these are about R500. Looks like value for money, but not sure. http://www.bbbparts.com/clothing_bbw83.php
  4. Do you wear them with one of these?
  5. Soak these overnight in paraffin and then ride with one on each ankle. For optimal performance you must put the red one on your left (port) and the green one your right (starboard)
  6. Why not just invent a continuously variable transmission for bikes and have a torque sensor shift steppless through a infinate amount of gear ratios. - (Think Nissan Murano)
  7. The ones from Gabon work very well and are not that expensive. Breakages are absolutely minimal. Unfortunately like Henry Ford Said - "Any colour as long is it is ...."
  8. I got this bracelet on a recent MTB excursion near Port St Johns. I think the motivating factor for me buying it was that I saw Ghaitshi Ghubi wearing the exact same one and you should see him running over the rocks with unreal balance and power. Oh ja I also bought a plot with a case of brandy, now just waiting for the title deeds.
  9. If the going gets realy tough, we can always call out the big guns....
  10. Crack, this device really motivates the would be bike-jacker into considering a more honest career. Complete with carbon fibre handle, titanium ball and grade 314 stainless steel spikes it is perfect for our corrosive P.E. coastal environment.
  11. 1. Just got tired of being tired. 2. Pressure from my 12 year old daughter. 3. Gained Quality & hopefully Quantity of life. 4. Two packets of smokes @ R28 per day = R20,440 a year! 5. EK IS DIE BAAS, NIE DIE F_KKEN SIGARETTE NIE!!
  12. Well done Chris, Crack, Wizzard and others. KEEP IT UP! Today is day 424 for my wife and I. I replaced the smoking with cycling and healthier living and to date have dropped in weight from 104kg to 87kg and still losing. IT IS GREAT TO BE ALIVE!!!
  13. Garmin edge 705!
  14. You can also use "Mudmaps" free RSA site. Mudmaps
  15. Thanks for all the advice, I am now Sorted! Damn uphills are killing me, but my eyes water on the downhills and flats!
  16. Definitely Blackburn 4.0 - Blackburn’s most powerful rear flasher - 1 Watt Ultra Bright Red LED B) - 2 Amber Side LED’s - 50 hour runtime steady; 150 hour runtime flash Sells for about R175
  17. Wonderfull gadget! make sure you have Google Earth installed on your pc so you can view your rides in it. You can also receive .GPX files from friends' rides via e-mail, or wireless between units! - Pricey, but worthwhile unit.
  18. The effect of challenging roadies on a Mountain bike, during a road event is just so much better than on a road bike!
  19. My MTB has a standard 9 speed 11-32 teeth sprocket and the chainwheel is a 104mm 4 hole 22-32-44 teeth configuration. When I occasionally ride with low profile slicks in road events I tend to run out of gears trying to stay with a bunch. Does anyone know if the Shimano M510 48 teeth(as apposed to 44 teeth) chainring replacement would make much of a difference? 4 more teeth = 9% less cadence?
