  2. Does anyone know where you can donate your old cycling equipment, shoes etc in the Gauteng area?
  3. I did swim a bit all over the place but from what I have heard the swim distance was a tad longer. I think the distance includes the run to transition.
  4. Comparative Stats Midlands - Swim 1.99km - Bike 86.83km / 780m elevation gain - Run 21.32km / 114m elevation gain Ironman 70.3 - 2.37km - 91.82km / 1133m elevation gain - 21.29km / 201m elevation gain As per Garmin 310xt
  5. All you need is a blanket and you can have a picnic...
  6. I did my first couple of duathlons in cycling shorts. It doesn't hinder that much and you can get a feel for the sport before spending money on tri shorts..
  7. Well my frame arrived today without any further hassles. CRC sommer shipped it with DHL at no extra cost to me. The only problem I have now is that they shipped the BB30 adaptors (with normal mail) before the shipped the frame so now I have to wait for those to arrive before I can take her for a test ride...

  9. So I haven't got a reply from customer services yet but got an email confirming that my order has been processed and it's on its way... Now let's just hope it has the correct content..
  10. How long does the customer services department normally take to come back to you?
  11. I also ordered one of those frames yesterday BeOne Raw Red 56cm. Order went through, I paid, and then all of a sudden the item is discontinued. I sent them a mail asking them wtf and I am still waiting for a response. This morning I saw that there were no 56cm frames left at all. I have asked a friend in the UK to give them a call to find out what is happening. Will post their reply as soon as I hear from either party...
  12. I rode 20km to the start from Diepsloot and was greatly cheered by all the waterpoints along the way.. They thought I was the leader. hahaha. Other than that had a great race but will try and get a seeding for next year cause there were no bunches to ride in starting in CC but ended with a 3h20 and a 20km ride home..
  13. Sorry to hear about the injury... That really sucks.. I got ITB earlier this year from running too far too quickly and took about 2 months to get rid of it. Think I was just lucky.. Did a lot of stretching, still do, ran on softer surfaces (grass) and swam. Hope this helps and good luck. P.S. I heard those foam rollers also work quite well..

    ThudBuster

I rode with this for about 7 months and it really works. It does take a little getting used in the beginning cause it feels like your rear tyre is flat but after that you will not look back. I actually have one for sale here on the hub if you interested. I got a dual suspension so that is why I am selling it..

    Breedt's Neck

Was good fun Rudolph... Next time I am dragging you and Frans across the nek and down the other side...
  16. Next time just make sure you have your cheque book with you so when you do accept the bribe ask him/her which primary school they are attending and make the cheque out to the school...
  17. I don't know whether this is a common occurance but I went to 3 bike shops in Centurion today namely Grant Cycles, CycleLab Centurion and Cajees Centurion asking about road bikes. Im not entirely new to cycling, I have MTB but I am looking to get a road bike. Now going to these cycling shops looking for some advice on what to get, what size I should get etc. the only question I was asked is what is your budget. Not in one of the stores did they ask me for what purpose is the bike, (which is going to be for duathlons btw), they didnt check what size it should be. They just sorta sized me and then said ok this is your size which was different in all 3 shops. Are there actually some decent cycle shops left in Pretoria and Centurion and is there anyone who has also experienced the same kind of really bad service?
