  1. Johan that looks flippen cool!! What kind of price you looking at for a spark, how long does it take? Does he take apart and assemble on his side?
  2. I agree. I love bike addict, there site is easy to view, to work out, bought tons of stuff from them, ONCE you get your quote emailed to you and you pay, the order only takes 2 days, BUT, its time they update. Quote cart is old school, list qty on hand, i can promise you, if they make these small changes they will increase turnover as allot of purchases are spur of the moment.
  3. They really need to improve there interface. Items need to show qty on hand when you place an order / quote. Cant email each time asking of this or that is in fact in stock. It will not be cheap but convert to a proper online system, like Rapide, love these guys, amazing service, easy check out system, the list goes on.
  4. Try test a concave pedal, stamps are flat, didn't work for me. I changed to DMR v12's. I had to loosen my laces on 5 tens allot, much better. Check socks, used thick socks once, numb toes after only 10 minutes. Try have as little pressure around your foot, wide shoes. If your sit bones are 140 should you not be on a 155 saddle? Stiffer soles with less flex, 5 tens are not stiff, are the RC shoes suffer? Try ride with normal tekkies, if the issues are less it's a step forward to deciphering everything.
  5. I would look at second hand, for 40k you could pick up a sweet full carbon dual, sub 12kg bike.
  6. Thanx bob, interesting...
  7. I did try that as well, makes a small difference. I can feel my pinky toes being slightly squished once fitted, laces out, laces in, same thing, it just is what it is, my dam wide feet. Not sure if the 2fo's are broader, or maybe i must just give up and go back to clips.
  8. I am on my brand new pair of five tens [imported] still numb toes, decided to do a 25 kay ride this morning with normal tekkies, no numb toes. I think my feet are a tad to wide for these five tens as i did feel that my small toes are being pressed in but with normal tekkies not at all. Someone mentioned those spaz 2fo shoes were much much better than anything else he tried, no more issues. I was thinking of RC's but if my feet are wide i cant afford the same issues.
  9. See below grammar. Did you call the cell number? Wonder how they / why they added MTB bikes to there range of services. 'We have a qualifies team of professionals to provide the best to meet you demands and beyond.'
  10. I was also looking, need medium, seems they all sold out already. Hope they get new stock soon.
  11. Yip just Baggies but not Baggies, proper slim fit. No padding. Those alpine stars look sick....in a very good way.
  12. Hi guys, on a few threads guys mentioned non padded baggies, which make sense, so just use your bib underneath. Anyone bought these ones, how do they work out, to flappy, to long, just right? They seem well made, what other options, makes, suppliers? https://ciovita.co.za/products/mens-trail-baggies I am keen to order jerseys so would not mind matching pants.
  13. Guys, if any of you end up getting numb feet please post, this is an on going dam issue i am having. I have heard guys who changed from five tens to 2fo's stopped getting it.
  14. I changed from stock crossmark 2's 2.25 front and rear to icons 2.35 front and rear. Bike shop suggested i do this as i am old school, hard tail, i will have a comfier ride. My thoughts after 1 week of 20kay rides. I am not sure if i am getting brain freeze but it feels as if my bike is slugish compared to when i had the 2.25's. BUT, when i look at my stats it shows the same stats, so it must be all in the head. The 2.35 is like riding on air almost, its weird, its a complete different experience. On long climbs i feel slower, but am i.....i think its playing mind games with me. On downhills, o my word! it feels as if i have a semi dual suspension, it is insane how a slightly larger tyre simply floats over everything. If i am losing time on uphills i am sure i am gaining it on the downhills. I like the 2.35 front and rear as my hard tail is not so hard anymore, if this makes sense. Doing my first 43km race this weekend on this new set up, keen to see how it shapes out. PS, i did weight the icons 2.35 and then the 2.25 ikons, i could swear they weigh the same give or take 10grams.
  15. Hi guys, i slight bit off topic but a few quick questions...... The Sesta range, race, pro and so on, they are older i know, but they carbon, i am thinking of a sesta for my wife as she prefers this kind of geo. So what are the differences between the sesta race and pro. The ones i see are black and yellow [pro] then black and red [race]. Do they both weigh the same, is it only differences in forks, gears. Lastly, some websites claim weight on sesta carbons at under 11kg, some at just under 13kg, why the difference, what am i missing? I fully understand sesta's are marathon, old schoool geo but some people prefer this. They are scarce to find, in small, and not cheap, from 30k up to 45k brand new, if you can find brand new. Maybe some of you have more info please.
  16. Hi Paul, they look nice, but i am going to carry on looking for lock on types. I see Fabric make them, anyone tried these: https://bike-addict.co.za/collections/grips-bar-tape-1/products/fabric-silicone-lock-on-grips
  17. Hi Chris, that is true. But then again the DIY sit bone test is critical, i wish i did that long ago, cause at least you start at a point, thin ass, wide ass, then you at least know what saddle width to look at. The sit bones reading on the giant test saddle is hyper cool, even if you sit up straight or normal race position, it clearly shows where you are basically sitting. And this is a free service if i am not mistaken.
  18. Hi Chris, over the weekend i did the diy sit bone test. There already i measured / saw that my ass needs a thinner type saddle. So my old stock saddle was not far off size wise, but not a great saddle, probably sells for like R400. When i sat on the Giant test saddle, both times i rode around in normal 'race mode' mode, not sit up straight mode, if i understand your question. My saddle was to far back, its not a great saddle, my sit bones are not wide at all, so all in all, i think this has solved the issues.
  19. Hi gents, first and hopefully last update. Went to Ride Life in George. I am super impressed with the level of service. Thank you to JP, within 20 minutes we were done and sorted. So first thing was to check my set up. Saddle a bit to far back in there opinion. Took saddle off, chucked on Giant gel sit bone testing saddle, mounted it the same. Went for test ride, clearly showed i am sitting to forward. This was one of the causes of painfull ass. He then moved it forward, test ride again, much better. The indicators showed a need a narrow saddle due to sit bone width. He then mounted a bontragger arvada saddle.as test 1. He showed me how it flexes as well, which is important on hard tails. Went for test ride, felt flipping amazing, and this is with normal shorts on. Told him, done deal. The Arvada is a 138mm wide, has the relief insert but its not open. I think i have found my saddle. He also adjusted it level to a tinge up as my previous set up was a tinge nose down. He said this might be the cause of hand fatigue. So all in all, amazing service, going for a ride later today, cant wait to test out. Note pics i just took are with dropper down.
  20. Vetseun, i did the same on my previous foam grips, allot of super glue lol. Has anyone tried these Ergon grips, the new ones, less palm support, seems very interesting. Wonder how they work in real life, long rides. https://www.ergonbike.com/en/article-ga2-fat.html
  21. Hi guys, back 2 the grips. Changed from foam to chuncky esi's, they feel nice and soft, comfy, but they started to rotate now. Must i use hair spray? Do you get similar grips like these but with lock on's?
  22. My current saddle I measured end to end was 145mm, but my sit bone area I recon is around 135mm. So perhaps I am a normal oke. I guess that's why most saddle widths are around 142mm. The Gobi sounds like an idea, tnx.
  23. Okay, so find a nice piece of cardboard in the garage, chucked it on a flat chair, sat back straight up, pulled my weight down on the arm rests, and saw the 2 x impressions, quit cool. I did this twice as it seems my ass is small. Both times i measured between the centre of each impression 105mm, max 110mm. Google bike saddle fit people say take this measurement and add 20mm, so i get to 130mm. This is some ways confirms why sitting on the wider saddle earlier today [150mm wide] felt horrible. This also confirms why my current 'thin saddle' is fine but i still need to figure out, or get a saddle that lasts the distance. So i guess i am in for a saddle width of 130mm, 135mm, does this sound normal.
