  1. I still find it strange that in this day and age they still cant trace that 'fan' girl who caused the crash.
  2. I use alpicin, there I said it???? please grow back, jokes aside, what a ride!
  3. Try and get your set up sorted by yourself, you actually learn allot this way, you might get it 80%, then see what changes an actual bike fit does. If you on a large i assume you tall, so above 1.85m i guess. Make sure your saddle height is correct, put saddle in the middle as a start, get it level, make sure your reach to the bars is enough that you not cramped, check if your back is as straight as possible when riding. There are plenty threads with tips here, enjoy trying different things, enjoy your new bike! Maybe get someone to take side on pics of you on the bike, there are a bunch of clever guys here who will be able to spot serious problems off the bat. Did i mention saddle height ???? Enjoy your new bike day today!
  4. I am 85kg, 1.87m tall, bike is 11.5kg
  5. Hi Diesel, shot for your comments. I actually typed a thread about this last year, when i moved to wider tyres. In a nutshell [think austen powers] ???? the wider tyres felt slower on long gradual climbs, but they were faster and more comfortable on long downhills. That was my experience. Then again, they had more grip in almost every other scenario, but each to his own.
  6. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/bike-check-loana-lecomtes-winning-massi-aire-sl.html Sup peeps, i found this article such a nice read. This girl is going to go far for sure, amazing talent, however, what caught my eye is the tyres she rides: 2.20 width ???? So now we ask ourselves the question, why? Are the narrower tyres slightly faster, lighter, there must be a reason she prefers this. You have the likes of Nino running 2.4 and upwards. I still have this picture in my head that the wider you go the more rolling resistance you get, but i know google tells me i am mad ???? Its all in the head. I do know one thing for sure, the ride quality on 2.35 versus 2.25 is chalk and cheese, it feels as if you are floating over rough terrain. When my current 2.25's are done i will most probably up size to 2.35. But getting back to her bike, so minimal, so slick, and see what she says as well, she prefers old school cables, very cool article, thought i would share ????
  7. D, do you think it's that bad for Nino...should the new bike be lighter, still think new technology must be lighter than old technology.
  8. wear-resistant, anti-skid tire. Now This is what we all need.
  9. I guess that's why second hand makes for sense nowadays..
  10. Tnx for this, interesting reading...bit worried, paying almost 50k for a bike which weighs almost 15kg. They all do look frikken sick though, awesome.
  11. I wonder if the current models will gain in value as the new ones are just so dam expensive. I see the new model is around 70grams heavier though, but thats not much. Someone said we will see tons of current and second hand models for sale soon soon, but to get the exact same spec in a 2022 version will cost way more in my mind. Will hang onto my second hand for a long time.
  12. I will get shot down but entry level crossmarks i think are faster rolling tyres, but not as grippy as what you have. I had icons once in front, felt lank slow. Option 2 is change to a faster roller at the back, thinner, maybe 2.25 or 2.3? I can swear wider tyres feel slower on long uphills, i am still old school, running 2.25 front and back. There are so many threads about how wider is better, as i said, thats how it feels to me.
  13. Maybe you need less sweep, wider bars?
  14. I have been using five tens for over 10 years, excuse the pun lol. I have used so many different flat pedals i could write a book. You need to see which one works for you. I started on Giant ones, nice concave, but platform not that wide for my size 11 shoes. Tried Stamps, lekka wide, but flat, no concave, ended up with dmr v12's magnesium's, imported them, super lightweight and for the last few years working like a charm. I bought new flatter pins on amazon, see pics, they not as aggressive and are a tad shorter. So far so good. I also find the five tens flex allot, my next shoes i would try out would be spaz flats, the sole is way stiffer, which i think will help more with numb toes, and that is a whole debate on its own. If i move my feet around every now and then i dont get the numb toes. The dmr pedals also sit further away from the crack so your foot is not hanging off the side. That was the problem with the giants, way to close, fine for small feet though. On a different note, decided to do some custom graphics on parts where i had mad scratches on the top tube. Did down tube, got off cuts of vps [similar] and covered them so now they are protected. Also did custom decals on the rims. Good luck with pedal and show testing.
  15. Mark, i would like to know as well. But such a clean simple looking XC weapon. At over 100k it must be under 11kg at least.
  16. Eish, at 110k it should come in at under 11kg.
  17. This is a very very nice looking bike. Sometimes less is more. Wonder what the weight comes in at. See its specced with 2.4 tyres. Very cool
  18. Apply wet to avoid any bubbles Trust me, learnt the hard way.
  19. Same with my wifes tyres versus mine, hers are marked as 2.1 but are the same width as my maxis 2.2's, hers are vitoria. Not a massive game changer, just interesting to see.
  20. I might be wrong, but i heard that if you do an eft, phone the bank, tell them you mistakenly paid into a wrong account, the bank refunds you in 24 hours, maybe this is what he did? If i saw funds reflect, i will transfer the amount into one of my other accounts, but then again, not sure if the bank will then request it back if they refund client, it is truly a stuff up, strongs..
  21. Thanx, please send me T bones details. Email address. Thanx!
