  1. The issues are not with the head units; it's with the strap/HRM. I had the same result irrespective of what devices it was paired with. Could be a Garmin Forerunner 935, Garmin Edge 530, TrainerRoad running on an iPad or Zwift running on a Windows laptop; same result.

  3. No results yet? Keep refreshing the website but still says pending.
  4. When is this data from? Cos I’m sure when I stopped drinking in 2019, we would’ve dropped down to 6-7th in the world at least.
  5. that was the only satisfying part about my experience with Wahoo TICKRs ????
  6. I've had a terrible experience with Wahoo TICKRs. Had the original TICKR X. Worked for about a year then wouldnt pair. The new model just released, so bought a new TICKR (let's call this one TICKR#2). Lasted 3 months. It would just get stuck at 225 bpm from the get-go. iKhambi did a great job to replace it for me under warranty. Excellent service from them which can't be faulted. TICKR#3 then lasted about 4 months. Same thing as TICKR#2 happened. Took videos, did multiple tests, sent results back to iKhambi. Did all the usual troubleshooting steps again. Firmware upgrades. Battery upside down reset. No luck. So I had to smash TICKR#3 and they replaced it again. So now we're onto TICKR#4. TICKR#4 lasted 3 months again. Issues again. Erratic readings. Get's stuck on a certain bpm. Was still under the original warranty, but by then I couldn't handle it anymore. Bought a Garmin HRM-Dual. Happy days ever since. In summary, exceptional service from the importer/distributor (very very good), but a horrible product (or I'm just cursed).
  7. Best thing ever. Bought one. "Lost" it while at CTCT. Got home. Bought another. Then found the first one in my bag ???? #N+1

    Yebo yes.
  9. Back on! Big up to @@BigJohnSwan for being able to manage the carry over entries and only have a small top-up amount to pay in. And that after 3 postponements. Was happy to pay my additional R250 this morning.
  10. Was super excited to get the email yesterday! Finally! Think I've been entered since 2019 if I'm not mistaken. In-laws have a house in Prince Albert, so hoping it's available that weekend. Ideally I'd like to stay there the week after and then it's a short hop down to CT. Doubt I'd get a pink slip for that though. #Dreaming
  11. I’ve read that it will be streamed. Should be on Ironman NOW on Facebook.
  12. LOL. I was in two minds about pre-ordering the digital package before the race, but went ahead and bought it anyways. No regrets after seeing the collection of pics they got of me. Some absolute pearlers in there ????????????????. Even one of me lying on my back, phoning the wife on a borrowed phone. ????????‍♂️
  13. Nope, it's all good, other than the "defects" the manufacturer designed into it LOL. (I assume you know about the recall). LMAO. Nooit, we're peaceful okies man.
  14. Yeah it was actually quite a soft landing. Just bad luck touching down on my sunnies which cut me. Other than a scratched pair of Oakleys and a cut on the cheek (and a massive hematoma under the eye), I didnt have a mark on my, my helmet or my bike.
  15. But it can break you. I put in 14-16 hours a week across swimming, running and cycling, so fitness and/or conditioning was not the cause of my cramps. Only issue I battle with usually (especially during middle distance tri's) is needing the porta-loo. So this time at CTCT was the first time I tried switching to Maurten Drink Mix and I suspect that's where things went a bit wrong for me. Hydrogels are hypertonic in nature and if I look at my sweat rate during the event, it was greatly reduced. Almost didnt sweat at all and I'm usually a heavy sweater. So dehydration could likely be the underlying cause.
  16. Got back on, the guy in the white shirt pushed me a few meters up the hill and I got going again. The bleeding had stopped pretty much. A few km later on the descent, I spotted an ambo on the side. Pulled over and they cleaned the cut on my cheek and taped it together with "sterri-strips". Told me to get stiches from the doc at the finish. Rode on and finished strong. Pulled in at medical, got stitched up and then went and lay down at physio for a rub down.
  17. He does. And sent it to me. But not of me going down unfortunately. Only after the fact. Him and the dude in the white shirt actually came and helped me. The photographer: "I got you going down, but wont upload cos I don't wanna embarrass you" Me: "Bro, I've pre-ordered the photo package. I've got min skaam. You make sure it's uploaded cos I want to see this". At the end of the day it's all good fun. Can't wait for next year. Will try stay upright more.
  18. Exactly what was going through my mind at the time. LOL.
  19. Spot on brother. I was cramping hard all the way from the bottom. Then as I saw the togs, I thought it would be a good idea to get up out the saddle. As I stood up, booooooom, two concrete pillars. Legs locked up solid. Fortunately my face broke the fall and saved the bike, Which is good, cos you know....these SL7's.....
  20. Wow, that's a nice improvement. I've gone from 55.79 to 47.80. (Despite face planting up Suikerbossie when both legs locked out solid from the biggest cramp ever lol).
  21. Can’t say I’ve ever noticed a difference. My optometrist advised me not to use Renu and to stick to OptiFree. found this too: https://www.clspectrum.com/issues/2002/december-2002/comfort-differences-between-multi-purpose-solution edit: there appears to have been a few studies conducted between them and all the ones I’ve read come to the same conclusion.
  22. I’ve used Renu before when I couldn’t find OptiFree. Didn’t enjoy it and now stick exclusively to OptiFree.
