Noob status can also be removed by riding some really difficult or popular race well, like Sabie Experience, Dirtopia, Cape Epic ext. ALthough if you are first a successful roadie, that bad karma will follow you every where, and hard core MTBkers will always refer to you as a Noob or a roadie or a lot of less pleasant things. Mtb cred comes from more than just racing. HR vouches for beer drinking. Spidy was known for fairy hunting. (ie being able to (on a mtb) chase and pass roadies). Lappies got a lot of cred for winning the CV at the Telkom challenge.

white is always an interesting colour for a MTB. I prefer white because I am a lazy slob, and only wash my bikes when they start looking really dirty. White bikes always seem to look dirty. Therefore, against my character and personality, I now wash my bike regularly

You only a noob until you have broken something.

If you leave your bike with the valves at the top for a day, then the sludge will rest away from the valve and then you can deflate your tyres without sludge creating problems. HOWEVER, if your valves leaked in the last while, then DR SLudge has sealed your valve. YOu may have to pump in a little air to push the blockage out. THis can be dangerous!!!! I have seen a guy blow his tyres and tubes trying to do this.

Collin, here is a suggestion the energy suppliment/ sport suppliment market is more than just energy gels. Some guys prefer to use drink mixes over gels. I have a friend that actually mixes his gels with water in his water bottle. Also there is a bit of brand loyalty. If one USN/breakthrough/PVM product works then there is a tendence to stick to that manufacturer when buying other products (there is a belief that there is compatitbility between products from one manufacturer) ALthough you have a brilliant product (where is my free sample and are you willing to sponsor clubs) it is not supported by other products in a range. Although it is not always wise to diversify when you have a winner, in this case I would recommend it. Vooma was independent and taken over by USN. PVM/Energy dynamics also has energy bars, and drinks. Even GU has diversified. Good Luck.
