  1. they not cows, they are tolletjies. (or totties)KonaFan2008-10-17 05:29:49
  2. I quick look at chainreactioncycles.com is very informative. They still see 8 speed as their biggest seller.
  3. Well stated Hog. Service' date=' people, it is about service. When will they ever learn? [/quote'] So if someone's servicing your misses better than you, is that fine? It's also about loyalty mate! I did not marry my bike, and I don't have sex with my bike either. Wierdo.
  4. From the consumers side (that is the most of us, and not all those guys who either have retail, distribution or import interests), the idea of a distributer is to make access to the market (that is us again) EASIER for the manufacturer. That means actually have stock available, maintaining a stock of spares, honouring immediate warrentee issues. IT also means handing the brands IMAGE in the designated country. From the consumer's point of view dealing with the official distributor should be more convinient, less risky and even "GASP" cheaper than other means of acquisition. At this stage it seems that distributors in RSA think that they have a monopoly (pucker Paul Kruger style) and the consumer should be very very grateful for this, and pay extra for the inconvienience. I don't know, but if shimano, SRAM, Campy compare their market share and turnover of stock for RSA vs say EU, whether they will be asking their distributors for an explination.
  5. CWC, can I apply for the job of proof reader before HR is called for the interview?
  6. AT this stage the price of maxxi's Larsen TT's (Tubeless) range from about R300 up to R410, depending who has old and new stock. Now who imports maxxi's?KonaFan2008-10-16 06:29:55

  9. has toohot got new friends here?
  10. There just aren't the words - but if there were they'd be off somewhere beyond cretinous and stomach-turning. What a Wally. I wonder just how they changed his world? sounds like some pimplely marketing catch line, like "Dogmor, tastes like good food should."
  11. THere is the nub of all the arguments. Consumers will always want to pay as little as possible for merchandise, so they buy without worrying about "Grey" status ext, so long as it is cheaper. Smuggling, grey imports ext, abound when taxes, import rules, mark-ups ext make products inaccessible to the public. THink of it, buy a bottle of John Walker blue for R2000 at Makro, or float around CT harbour and buy the same thing for R200, with a pesky label that says "Not for resale- Only for distribution to QE2".
  12. so they were real mavics before some inconsiderate bastard removed the serial numbers? Now they are grey, or numberless. Questions: Does the serial number determine that it is a Mavic wheel? If Mavic removes the serial numbers of "Substandard" wheels after production, then is it no longer a Mavic wheel even though it still has Mavic stickers on? Why would Mavic then sell these wheels on the international market and not in South Africa? IS it not unethical to punish retailers by "Steeling" their "Fake" stock without attempting to plug the hole at the source of the "Fake" wheels?
  13. are there more of you.......
  14. Zaskar, I have been duped by marketing stories. But I do feel that my "wings" do flex when I am cycling. The yellow lines become softer maybe?
  15. go minimalist
  16. On a new aroine, the "Stress" lines under the saddle have not broken, which makes it feel wide. As a result you may "float forward to the narrower nose. Also the rails of the saddle are longer than the normal saddle. Check again if your fore and aft position is correct. Maybe the saddle is too far back on the seat post and your body is self correcting. I find that the nose should be level and the rear of the saddle slightly flared (5%)
  17. the lose spoke was hitting the chain stay?
  18. Connery cos I was named after him... But I like Craig cos he brings a ruggedness to the role that makes it more real. thats so gay... what's wrong with being gay?[/quote nothing, but before you fall out of the closet be aware of the trolls from CT on this site. It may get toohot for you here.
