  1. try Plascon Remove-all. Its in a grey plastic bottle, magic stuff. Will save you some time and you get to ride that baby of yours sooner!
  2. Call them at 086 133 3358 and ask for Vusi or Rory They had a few sets left this morning
  3. Thanks The old wheels will be converted to slicks for the odd road fun ride/race...
  4. So after missing out on the Mavic Crossmarks, I got myself these XT wheels today from The Bike Basement at a ridiculously low price. The wheels, Conti Race Kings and the rotors all included in the deal...schweetttt
  5. Just my 2c as well....when I bought my current bike two years ago, I sold my first bike, and bought my new bike all within a few days. If you really want something you would go after it and wont stuff around. Now stop moaning on the Hub and GO BUY A BIKE (sorry Dips)
  6. 1.5K brand new plus conti tyres included And they're not black....
  7. So it turns out this Mavics are 6bolt, and the shimano centre lock. So the Mavics it will be, provisionally reserved them for me. Its a very good deal I think
  8. Santa said I can choose between these two wheel sets at a good price Being a heavy bloke which of these would be the best option in terms of durability and bomb proof as well? Not sure which year model they are....

    Rugby...

I don't like the away jersey.....but the home jersey is actually quite cool...might just get me one...
  10. Sterkte met die herstel en f*k die taxis. Hoop die bliksem sit lank
  11. Maybe you could give Torqzone Cycles in Doringkloof Mall a go.... I've heard that Tool-up Cycles in Grey Owl centre near Midstream is also not too shabby
  12. As first timer I liked the route...the smelly parts just made you ride faster, and the pedestrians crossing the road made for an urbanized version of dodge ball. Just before the end I couldn't believe that it was over already....certainly not boring
  13. I did that as well....used every opportunity to stretch the legs a bit, think that's what made the cramps near the end bearable.
  14. Hehe thanks (don't worry, the nicest chats I had enroute were with roadies)....we also just "lovetocycle"...all in the name of fun. Was amazed to see how many MTB's there actually where. In my starting group there was this lady on a mtb with knobblies, damn did she pedal, left me for dead on the N14 For years I wanted to ride the 94.7 but just didn't get to it, now I see what I missed. But hey don't worry, there are some thoughts going through my mind of maybe getting a roadbike sometime
  15. Inspirational story indeed Think I should seriously get waaayyyy fitter than I am now, and race the one lap next year and chill and get in more of this awesome race spirit on the 2nd lap...I love it. Rode alongside a CHOC COW guy in a pink suit methinks for a while, he did a very good job of convincing me to join! Btw Clinton, your route suggestions to my wife's office next to the Baron was spot on and virtually no traffic, thanks a million
  16. yeh, passed them on the N14 after starting at 09:33, still all smiles and pumping really good tunes, think that music was so hard the sound waves must have pushed them along as well
  17. As said before, I did a 4:11 according to Racetec (4:09 Garmin) Very happy, started cramping very lightly towards end. Next year we will go under 4 hrs
  18. I went past that guy on the bmx, exchanged a few words, seemed like a pretty laid back fellow, smiling all the way.
  19. Yeah, when we went back to our cars after a few beers, one roadie checked out my tyres and said "you do know that "those" tyres are a huge disadvantage"? I replied with "oh well what was your time? He replied just did over 4hours. I replied, with "seems like your tyres are a disadvantage as well because I also did just over 4 hours'.......didn't get a response. Was quite funny actually. Well, next year will be aiming for 3:45
  20. I think I rode past you in CBD somewhere just before Ghandi Sqaure or something....respect to any rider pulling a trailer of some sorts....
  21. Have I told you I survived mine being removed at 38? Did you know that you should take salt and vinegar chips, coke and biltong to munch on after the op? How much space do you have in your freezer for ice lollies? Perhaps you are going to need a lot? Did you know that for pain you should crush ice, pour some fruit juice concentrate over it and enjoy? Are you aware of the fact that the first week is the worst and that you should eat as much coarse/unrefined/raw veggies and foods as you can handle? Also that your throat will be sore for two weeks? Did I scare you?
  22. Is awesome an understatement? Can you believe I'm actually looking forward to building a patio/deck end of November?
