  1. Got struck down with Tonsillitis on Friday, so were a bit miffed to not being able to ride. Imagine my relief when it got cancelled 😃 Now as far as the monies paid. I would not want my money back. I can understand their reasoning as far as costs etc. goes. But at least give me a spot for next year or at least first choice to book for next year (I don't know if that is in the fine print).
  2. No. I’m chasing PR’s and do not have time to stop and be polite 🤣🤣
  3. I’ll tell her it’s about 3000. But I won’t mention the currency 🤣
  4. We went to the finish yesterday mostly just to enter the kids into the Epic Kids races in the morning. At one stage my wife looked at me with a smirk and said, “ you want to do the Epic don’t ya?” Is this race something I should consider doing at least once? Being 40 odd, I can’t postpone much longer. How do you even go about finding a partner of more or less equal ability? So much to take into consideration
  5. That makes sense They did finish after us 🤣🤣
  6. Anybody know if Racetec have an issue? Results not out yet. Or do they wait for Tour to end and capture everything together?
  7. Nail. Hammer. Head Got an entry for November in Mosselbay. I already dread the swimming part.
  8. I rode K2C last year. What influence if any would that time have on seeding for the Argus seeing that it was a MTB race?
  9. That’s easy Some earlier posts says it’s a seedling event, some says it’s not 😉😄
  10. Geez I was hoping to improve my seeding from group Z to group X for the CTCT by doing the PPA. Conflicting info sees me staying on the couch
  11. Looks great. I do have a Scott. So hopefully that could work.
  12. Totally off topic. I see people talk about range extenders. Now. Which would you choose, a range extender or a secondary battery? And where do you buy these?
  13. Had a 503 error, which is a speed sensor issue. This happened within 3 months of buying it, and also on lap 2 of a XCO race. Not nice pushing a bike towards the finish line. Bike Addict, where I bought the bike gave excellent service. They fetched the bike but had to send it to Joburg to have fixed. D’ville Cycles and or Chris Willemse also sells Scott so they could also potentially help you out.
  14. I need to pick your brain a bit regarding the 70.3
  15. I see you can do both the 109km and 42km if you start before 6h45 in the morning.
  16. Perfect race distance for those already pushing their bikes at the very first hill
  17. Keen to ride the Argus MTB as well If it happens. Would be nice doing both I did inquire about the MTB. They didn’t so NO. They did say, “watch this space”. So it might happen
  18. A friend of mine rode both events this year. He says Sesha Fuels was a lot tougher than W2W. Day 1 was a prologue of 25kms. Days 2 and 3, 80kms and 2000m worth of climbing. The event is smaller than W2W which interests me. But hell, I would need to get seriously fit before I tackle it. The upside being that you would be super fit for W2W if you do enter that as well. Thinking of entering both next year. Bring it on
  19. Luckily I got everything I ordered. Luckily I also didn’t miss any of the markers, but that’s because I ride way to slow. 🤣 I did get held up a lot on the single track, but it was advertised as a fun day, so I tackled the day as such. I do have one very big complaint. They ran out of De **** on Saturday around 13h00. I left for home with a big thirst not yet satisfied. 😆
  20. Was a fantastic event. Will see me again in 2023
  21. I use Trainerroad
  22. Being my first K2C, I had a certain time in mind. Starting in E group I adjusted it by a few minutes. Getting to Ou Wapad I added more time and by the 60km mark I threw the watch away🤣. Helluva lot of climbing within the first 60kms. A lot more than what I anticipated. And when you hit Simola, you are just plain GATVOL. I feel sorry for the people that went in under prepared and also for the people that sustained injuries along the route. Lets do it again next year…..weather permitting
