Damn that's a pitty!!!

One of my colleagues has driven along that road with his bakkie a year or two ago, so it would appear to possible.

From Google Earth it would appear to be another 8km from the top down to the Polkadraai rd.

About 5.0% gradient from the bottom to the top with a section that goes up to 6%. Upto where I turned around (at the top) it was 2,3km, so good training.

Yesterday I went upto the top of the tarred road past the Devon Valley Golf club with my road bike. It looked like the tarred surface continued down the other side.Checked this morning on google earth and saw that the road eventually links up with the Polkadraai rd. It would appear as if there is a small stretch (±500m) which is not tarred surface. Has anyone done this road with their road bike and what is the condition of this road- down the other side( stellenbosch side). Thanx

I've heard of sludge that hardened in a tube that caused a speed wobble.

I think 2 bolts weigh less than 4

Went to Revolution Cycles and an hour later they phoned that the agent had delivered the spoke and I could bring in the wheel- problem solved

Ok some feedback: I tightened the strap again last night and yes I think I only experienced abnormal results once or twice during my ride. So there seems to be an improvement

A colleague showed me some pretty nice/impressive graphs of route profiles, etc and he has the Garmin 500

The watch is just over a year old and the battery low indicator has not appeared on the display. Usually these batteries last about 2 years

I have started to wonder about the Polar product and it would appear everybody is having problems with their products. The wearlink strap was replaced with the sensor about 1 and a half months ago.

Yes I experienced that in the past as well but now it picks up these high readings in place where it never happened before

Thanks for the suggestions, I have tried all of these except for applying the lube. Where in the WCape can one get this lube.

Hey Gummi you should get a ref limiter About the speed I am not to sure, I think it happens irrespective of the speed- why are you asking. (maybe interverence with the speed sensor maybe ) I was thinking maybe my cellphone is affecting the readings.

Does anybody know where I can get a silver spokes for my SL's (think they are 2007 model). I broke a spoke about a month ago on the drive chain side of the rear wheel. I sent the wheel in to a workshop in the Tygervalley area and they replaced it, but when I arrived I was told that the supplier sent the wrong stock as the spoke was black not silver. I was told that they will order the silver ones but in the meantime I can ride with the black one. So its been more than a month now and everytime I enquire I am told that they are waiting for the supplier. Cyclelab also was going to order me one but I have now been waiting nearly 2 weeks for them as well. Can anyone perhaps help. CWC also do not have these.

I have just about had enough now. A month and a half ago I experienced problems with my heart rate monitor (Polar S720i) in that the pick-up range was like 30cm instead of 1 meter. So I send the HR sensor and wearlink strap to Polar and the replace everything under guarantee. Now all of a sudden (since Saturday) abnormal high and low HR readings appear. After every ride I rinse the wearlink strap and sensor with water and dry it with a towel, but still experience this problem. What else can I do? Please help.Thanx
