  11. I've had the BBB torgue wrench set for about 4 years and it works perfect. Bought it from the old Willie Engelbrecht Lifestyle centre. Good value for money.
  12. My friend ordered a polar from them after a month nothing. He phoned then and they said it must have been lost, they'll resend. Two weeks later he gets a slip to pickup parcel at depo. Next day he gets slipt to pickup parcel at post office. He waited a month and a half and now he has two Polars for the price of one!!!

  14. broke a nipple on one of my wheels (spoke was still in tact) was told by Cycle Lab the whole wheel had to be respoked and would cost ±R1500. Insisted that they only replaced the one after having to get the manager involved and after 6-7months the wheels are still fine.
  15. That's why I only do the Argus and the 2 qualifying events- you don't have to be a PPA member to get seeded or to see your time B)
  16. Yah and we all know married men never score
  17. Yeah boet, that solved the problem for me too. Btw how did your race go yesterday?
  18. I have an irritating click on my drivechain now and then-mostly when I am out of the saddle. So I thought lets check if the chainring bolts are tight. Started checking them and when I got to the 3rd bolt it felt loose, so I started tightening it. The next moment the bolt snapped-skrikked my ass off! So I was wondering now whether that might have been my problem- will have to check 2morrow on the ride. Has this happened to anyone else?
  20. For all the money one spends on insurance every month, they should have thrown in a free bike as well
  21. Don't know whether I am yet preparred to swop at this stage, but I will keep you in mind, thanx. MAybe a pic of your wheel might help to convince me
  22. I also had one- which is now lying somewhere on the rubish dumps- nogal had campy record hubs. How I regret that decision now- never thought that I would need it sometime in the future!! I have the brake calipers and other campy stuff that's going on it though. I am obviously trying to get by with what I've got, but if I cannot make a plan are you preparred to donate that wheel for a good cause
  23. I would think that the spacing between the gears could pose a problem as where would you find such a spacer for these "new" type hubs. I still have some of those old 6 speed cluster- the ones that are one unit and screw onto the rear hub, but that is obviously not going to work here- unless off course I could fit a fixed gear hub- that would mean I would have to have rear wheel respoked.
  24. Ok, so I want to rebuild my Eddy Merckx classic frame with an old 6 speed click gear system. The problem is that the hub on the rear wheel I have is 8/9 speed compatible. Would it be possible to fit a 6 speed gear ratio on this hub? thanx
  25. I use an allen key socket and a power handle to remove my pedals. Just remember which way you should turn to loosen and whick way you should turn to tighten them
