  1. Ons Capies ken ons pryse en sal elders gaan shop as iemand ons probeer ripoff. So hulle beter die pryse laag hou, daar's mos alternatiewe oorkant die pad
  2. Yeah got two sets of my Argus photo's last year like that.
  3. Lyk my die ou het nou weer gat gevat.
So hoe lyk Saterdag, 9 January 2010 so 8h00 se kant.
  7. Compulsory M&B stop and I'll even take leave to join you.
  8. Are the skewers tightened property? If it the noise occurs when seated, it could be the seat post. Pedals if you standing- grease the pedal threads on the crank arms. Chain- can be stretched. Check the crank blade for tooth damage- rough edges. That'll all will take you whole weekend So chat to you again on Monday
  9. Remember that noises seem to travel through frames. Sounds as if it could be the headset.
  10. Maybe he is/was a she or maybe a heshe?
  11. Feedback: had the battery checked and it only measured 1 volt (of the 3 volts it is supposed to), so replaced it and the problem seems to be gone!!! The day after replacing the battery I went for a ride and my heart rate readings were way too low. So just replaced the battery in the HR strap and it was fine on yesterdays ride. Seems the batteries that they sell these days only last about a year.
  12. From all the good advice JB has been giving I decided to also reposition the compression plugg inside the steerer nearer to the top of the steerer. I then rechecked the torque on the stem bolts and they were still 100%. I've now done 5 rides (250km in total) and it would appear as if my problem is sorted. Just hope I don't end-up with an "auto pilot" bike. I will endeavor to regularly check my steerer (at least once a month) for cracks, etc just to make sure.
  13. Had the same problem after fitting new alligator cables on my spez. In my case the two gear cables where rattling onto one another and sending the noise through the frame- weird but that's how it works. Nearly thought it was my seat post that was going to break.
  14. Woofie: I am now more convinced than ever that you are a PPA rep Dont give up hope Braam. I took a quick sneek peek at your results now. Lets see what the 12 weelk program thing entails. Maybe it will include some "miracle drugs" Also' date=' if you want to do really well at the argus, you need to then get your @ss down to the races happening this summer. Make a mental choice that you are not going to fall off the group no matter what happens. You need to get your body used to race pace, riding at 40km/h. Pushing over the red line on climbs. If you cramp up on hard races, this is the only way to stop cramping. You need to get your body used to that abuse. To be very honest. I dont know how "wonderful" this 12 week thing is going to be anyway. I can bet you that you would be faaaarrrr stronger if you had to do all the races and use the rest of the week to do recovery rides only. It takes your body a few days to recover from a maximum effort so 1 race a week with 5 recovery rides of 1-2 hours long will make you a machine. Out of racing season you can do harder stuff in the week because you are never going to hit that intensity on your own. Also remember that the harder you are training the more you need to sleep. So for the next few months adjust your lifestyle to try to get more than 8 hours. Read a thing little while ago that pro athletes benifited more from getting 10 hours a night! I have a small baby so broken sleep for me is a way of life, but I can feel the immediately feel the toll that it has on me. [/quote']
  15. Geesh man, what does a person say- this is so sad. Sorry Slowtwitch to hear about your family's loss, my heart goes out towards you.
  16. "...it cut his steerer right off and he ended up with an autopilot bike. Very weird sensation (he said afterwards from hospital) and very, very strange to see. " LMAO
  17. Ok, mine has nearly 42000km and I think I have replaced my HR strap once. Also had my PC board replaced about 3 years ago, I was a bit curious and fiddled around and damaged the temperature unit. But yes, must admint IHF are cool.
  18. Battery in the unit was replaced by IHF on 12 February 2009. I think I am going to have the battery of the speed sensor tested first, would be the easiest option, then if the battery is ok, then it must be something else. Hey, 7 years, what do you like ride once every 2 months
  19. Yes, I do, why?
  20. So what can it be? Let me start of by saying that I use the "auto start & stop" function on the unit. Thursday evening went for a ride and while on the open road the unit would beep and stop and then start again. Happened about 7 times. Had a ride on Friday morning and Saturday and it was fine. Yesterday again the unit started doing the same. So, do you think it might be the battery of the speed sensor that's going flat? I checked the back of the battery yesterday and saw that I repalced the battery on 31 January 2009- I thought that these last about 2 years.
  21. Damn are you a midget, that must be like a 42cm bike!!!
  22. Good news, it would appear as if my problems are indeed something of the past. Had two 70km+ rides this weekend and the stem bolts are still torqued according to specs.
  23. What I also did not tell you was that before I did the "decrease in spacers thing" I torqued the bolts and "bounced" the front of the bike up and down. Checked the bolts and they were loose again. Then I did the decrease thing, torqued the bolts, "bounced" the front of the bike again and checked and the bolts were still tight. Then only did I go for the ride (wheeling, bunny hopping, ramping, etc) and checked and the bolts were still fine. So lets hope for the best, but time will tell. You say steel, does that mean I have to rebuild my old (classic) Eddy Merckx (that weighs about 13 kg's) Nah, I'd rather buy a new carbon steerer or jump back on my previous steed, the Giant TCR.
  24. @ JB: I took your advice and reduced the spacers underneath the stem on the steerer by approximately 4mm- this decreased "The gap between top of steerer tube and upper lip of the stem ... to less than 2mm", viz a negative gap.Torgued it afterwards and went wheeling, bunny hopping, etc around the neighborhood. When I got home I tested the tension on the bolts and whalla they were still 5nm- so the bottomline is, that I think your advice by moving the spacers around worked, thanx. Will keep you posted if anything goes wrong again, but I really think the problem is something of the past.
