    Hi-Jack

Was riding along Botlary rd (Cape Town) on Sunday morning and spotted two locals with probikes- the one was an elderly chap (late 50's early sixties) in his suite with his hat on coming from church on a Raleigh RC8000 (those green and yellow ones), the other a local (early 30's) with a backpack on a yellow and white Colnago. I wonder if they new that these bikes were worth more than R50.
  2. I had my setup redone the Ergofit way (at WE Bike) a couple of months ago after it was done the old fashioned way a year earlier. All I can say is WOW- I feel so much more comfortable on my machine than before and my training results shows definate improvement.
  3. I replaced my DA brake & gear cables on my roadbike with the silver alligator ones- works perfect and looks sooo good.
  4. When is that potent tear gas they had on supercycling the other day hitting the markets? I would love to squirt some at 130kph into the car !! Should be real fun seeing those idiots jumpout of the car while its moving.Lol

  19. Geesh man, its still winter. 5 o'clock in the morning- you serious!!! Just kidding, I am a morning person too- in summer I getup before 4 in the morning to cycle before I have to leave for work. I am actually riding with a group and meet them around 8h00 in Brackenfell so sorry, maybe next time!!!
  20. You must be mad boet, the credit card. She must have another addiction that won't cost you that much My wife craved for quinces- her clients brought her bags and bags of the stuff- had to hide it from her eventually as she would get major stomach cramps.
  21. You make a valid point, because that is what the gov would argue- the accident was caused as a result of the motor pacing not the pothole as such. If it wasn't for that, you would have had a good change of them settling (even out of court). I've heard of many such claims being lodged against road authorities, most of which are settled without much fuss.
  22. Worcester where's that? Ok you got me, I already have a trip planned to the Mugg & Bean on Saturday
  23. Find out what the wife craves for and then leave her with enough of that to keep her busy while you out cycling
  24. Unfortunately my lady hates riding gravel roads
  25. There is a legal responsibility upon the road authority to maintain their roads!!! Therefore the pothole is a consequence of them not properly maintaining their roads and therefore they are liable. A similar case which was all over the papers a few years ago was when a 10ton rock fell on a vehicle using Chapman's Peak Drive. The City of Cape Town was the maintenance authority for this road and therefore they were held responsible. So yes take pics, etc of the pothole and attach it to your claim against the road/maintenance authority.
