I heard 2 days ago that my S720i is completely stuffed- one button not working and screw holes have been damaged, repair cost R1300. Was advised to buy a new unit for R1995 and get a 2 year waranty. The guy at Polar SC I was dealing with even asked me if he could get rid of the old unit for me to which I politely replied NO SEND IT BACK TO ME with the new unit.

Been screwed by them before, so they will not see me again!!!

Just switched from normal insurance which do not cover races to Cyclesure which covers races as well. Difference in premium is from R118 to R293pm (R40,000 cover)

I recon you are one of the lucky ones- with all these insurance companies you just do not know whether they are going to pay or not. Good for you.

Claim from the City of Cape Town, the road authority for your loss as a result of them not fixing the pothole. Take pics of the hole before they fix it up. They have a entire section that deals with such claims. They were negligent in not fixing the hole.

I have used the product twice- with good results. It carbo loads and provides sustained energy during races. Recovery afterwards is good.

I purchased a Ritchley WCS Carbon seatpost the other day (2 bolt type) and noticed that the max torque on these bolts are 12 nm. Now I am wondering wat the max torque on my Specialized toupe saddle rails would be? Can anyone assist?

I have found every now and then my S720i gives inaccurate altitude & temperature readings- it would appear it happens when it is very hot. Anyone have similar experience and is there something that can be done to fix it? I don't know whether its relevant but I do a lot of swimming in a salt water pool- maybe this can affect it.

All insurance companies suck!!! I am busy with my insurance to fix my car and they are all full of crap- looking at excuses to not pay. I will give details of what happend later as soon as I hear what's happening with my claim. All I can say guys is READ THE FINE PRINT and take NOTHING for granted. Specify everything.

The other day I had an eye opener... I ussually get so upset with motorist when they drive so close to the curb that I cannot get past, but the other day I saw something that gave me a different perspective about this. I was sitting in peak hour traffic waiting at a bussy intersection for the robot to change when a motocyclist came down the middle of two lanes waving and shouting at the lady driver which according to him had moved to far over towards the right hand side of her lane- he had to virtually stop and manouver his way around her. Then I thought now what would I as a motorist do if a cyclist is saying I must move more to the right of the lane so that he can pass and the motorcyclist wants me to move more to the left hand side of the lane so that he can pass- totally confussing isn't it.

With what will they come up next!!!

Saw a group of about 12 cyclist coming down Bree Street Cape Town just after 6 this morning- only one or maybe two had rear reflecting lights and I don't recall seeing any front lights. Reg Lizard2010-02-09 07:52:00

I've actually done more than 17000km on a casette and a set of blades nad merely replaced them as I also got a good price for new ones. So you're saying I should rather run an ultegra chain to get higher millage?

10000km and how's you're blades and cluster after that? I use a Dura Ace 10spd chain and clean and lube regularly and the most I have done was just over 4500km
