Imo: Amla in for JP, if he does not open, to bat at 3 then. Faf 4, Miller 5. We need another spinner for India, perhaps they are backing JP for that - big big gamble if that is the case. Pangiso wont play, you cant change your action in week or two. Piedt or Harmer needs to be called up asap.

I agree, Behardien was looking solid, and got out to a good catch. But he has played very few innings of substance so far. The same can be said fot JPD - if the dont bowl, there are better options for batsmen in our brittle the middle order.

Miller is a spectacular talent, and could develop into a match winner. Imo he is wasted being used as a tonker low in the order. We need to make the most of his skill. (Which is recognised in the IPL, he is on a max contract, $ 1.85 mil, same as MSD and co. AB is on $1.4mil contract.) He and Rilee will be our 3 & 4 when AB and Faf gets old.

I see u19 coach Lawrence Mahatlane is saying we dont have a problem in our jr cricket, and has some excuses re inexperience etc. (Funny how none of that prevented us to win the WC in 2014.)

QdK reminds me a lot of AB's early career, loads of talent, but inconsistent due to soft dismissals. He has the potential to be an all time great, in the league of Gilchrist, if his game matures well. SA selectors took too long to but him back, he should have played in some of the tests vs India already. The selectors also cept on with the improvised opener plan for too long. Imo they should rotate JPD, Faf, Rilee and van Zyl for one spot in the middle order

Then injury to Abbott is still a concern, plus his empty wickets column. He kept his lines tight, but if he could not get a wicket here, when conditions were 100% in his favour, I dont think he deserves his spot just as containing bowler. The turn and inconsistent bounce will make Piedt a handful, I hope he grabs 3 or 4 sticks tomorrow.

Superb by Rabada. Re our bowling: Abbott has no wickets, in conditions that could not be more helpful. Imo Morris is a better option. Morkel is also looking less threatening than KR. KR clocked 150 kph! What would the attack look like if all were rested? Steyn, Rabada, Philander, Morkel would be insane, if conditions justified. Philander out for a spinner, if there is no swing. Imo we need a 5th bowler or allrounder. Duminy out for Morris?
