  1. Amateurs! Everyone knows a little paint stripper will clean that muck right off your frame without any issues!
  2. Does anyone have an idea on the average weight of the Hyrax? I did a demo on one a short while ago, and it honestly felt like a 20kilo bike. Although in its defence, it had burly tyres and tools hidden in all sorts of places
  3. Its possibly the worst time to look for a new bike since virtually nobody has stock of anything, even overseas. Talk about delayed gratification
  4. Looking at getting a Transition Spur, but stock is a joke at the moment. Looks like a good cross breed of XC and Trail. Would love a trail bike, but the riding I do most of the time requires lots of climbing, and short descents, so better to go for something lighter
  5. Thanks for this info. Was really interested to see what the total cost would be, as those bikes look like serious good value for money. Pity they don't stock them locally

How did that affect your climbs, or was that a non issue because the downhills were so much more fun? The terrain here has lots of hills, so climbing is a bit tough at times, but nothing I can't handle currently on my XC

Awesome feedback everyone, thank you so much. The weight of the bike is less of an issue for me, as I have some leeway around the mid section I could lose to make up for it Have arranged for a demo, and i'm salivating to get onto it now

Thanks guys, solid advice. The 150mm fork travel on the Hyrax is probably overkill for what I ride around here, but i'm looking for a bike I can grow into as well. For me the climbs are just a means to get to the downhill sections. Will try see if I can get a demo, but not looking to make another bike purchase for a few years to come

Howdy everyone. Thought maybe I could get some feedback from owners of this bike. It's on my shortlist for a new Dual Sus. Hoping to get a demo ride soon enough, but the whole aluminium vs carbon thing bugs me. The price seems quite high for an alu frame, but I'm torn between wheather to possibly look elsewhere for carbon instead, or is that a debate not worth getting into? Currently on a cannondale with 100mm of travel, so looking forward to seeing how a burlier bike like this will handle my local trails here in Ballito. Starting to get into jumping more, and loving the fast technical descents more and more. Internet reviews seem good, but would love to get some more personal feedback
