  1. What is up with cyclists taking gel sachet out of their jersey pocket, emptying it in their mouth and then dumping the sachet on the road. If you can take it out surely you can put it back for crying out loud! Two weeks ago I demo'ed a Spec SJ and got three punctures within 50m from the top of Majik. Had to hike back down and was amazed by the amount of crap dumped along the route. Three tubes, PLENTY of empty gel sachets, PLENTY of energy bar wrappers and a two empty C02 bombs. Really people, don't we MTB and RB to get away and enjoy the beautiful outdoors?
  2. '07 or '08 Virtue Two? They are two very different beasts spec wise.
  3. Glad to see those wheels are back in action! Slick looking machine, Edman.
  4. 661 Raji or 661 Comp gloves. They are damn good gloves.
  5. Any idea on local cost? More or less..?
  6. Confirmed: Night RIde tonight at Jonkershoek. We're meeting each other at the gate at 6pm. One or two okes have to leave earlier as they stay quite far, so the aim is to get away as close to 6pm as possible. Final route will be decided tonight by all parties involved. Usually head up to the single track and then make our way down. Not everybody is equally good when it comes to technical single track at night so we'll avoid the bottom seriously rocky bits. If for some or other reason you get lost or run late you can contact me on 084 621 3067...my name is The Crow. Ha, and everybody thought it was just a nickname!
  7. If you're deciding between Juicy Five or XT, definately Juicy. Even the Three's will give the XT's a go. I'm I'm not just saying that cause I'm a Avid fan. I'm actually a Formula Oro fan, but Avid brakes punch way beyond their weight.
  8. Sometimes it works like. Take Titus for instance, but it's not a given. I would rather go with something better known that you know you'll get back-up and service. And I don't mean go for a Raleigh or a Dunlop from Game, I mean Merida, Silverback, Giant, Mongoose or something like that.

There it is! Have been looking all over for it!
  10. Are you looking to buy a titanium bike? Yeah, Felt aren't the easiest to spot on the floor, but are great bikes. Rather go for a Merida or Mongoose then. Proven bikes that are great value for money. Silverback might be an option, but I know they are low on stock.
  11. How much would you like to spend? UNLESS bike had a great major service recently the fork and drivetrain might be stuffed.
  12. Giant Talon: Too expensive foir the kit on there. Felt Q920: Comfortable, good value, good parts. Also consider Silverback Sierra, Merida TFS 800 or 900 Felt RXC2: Fast, fairly light, reasonable value for money. Also consider Merida HFS Don't know the Hasa. You might battle to sell that frame/bike come upgrade time.
  13. BTW, IMO uphill riders have right of way. It's A LOT more difficult to get going again going uphill than what it is going downhill. Now I am off to Eden to go test my new lights and back to back two of my bikes to see which one gets the unfortunate chop. Now if only someone would buy my damn Alu Racer X...
  14. It depends on the rider. Some okes will not give even if you're on the last 10k's of a 300km ride and it was uphill ALL THE WAY. Unfortunately, IMO, 90%of the time it's the hardcore XC racers who seem to think that they own the trails and have right of way cause they are holier than though. Not all of them, but most. People riding for fun or ride to just enjy the crap out of it, tend to give way easier...heck they'll even say hello when you pass them by. I think if people would just use common sense and chill about it we will all get along. I also think that if Meurant designed a track for uphill use only he will mark it that way. There are only two very short sections (50m each) of single track that I'm always weary of on-coming traffic.
  15. Yip, saw you and Mrs Mountain Lion on your way to Jonkers when we left. Funny thing is, some people think it's a one way going up, others one way going down! Like you say, there are no blind corners and surely we can all give way and be polite about it! Obviously not. Meurant does a stellar job, I love the Canary loop. Couple of laps (consisiting of going up and down three/four times) makes for a killer ride.
  16. BTW, for those of you who are on Facebook, we organise rides through this group every week: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=12615583977
  17. Jonkers was freaking damn cold at 08:30. But with the rain we had the soil is perfect for blasting through the single track. Guys are cutting down in Middle Canary so the exit at the top was closed, but nothing a bit of bike-hiking couldn't solve. It was a blast. Next time we all go. We might be there on Thu for a night ride, will check the weather and post an event.
  18. Skindernuus raak nou offisiele nuus: Die elektriese heining bo in Majik Forest is "live". Ons, en een hubber in besonder, kan dit 100% bevestig.
  19. Shot guys, thanks for the lekker ride. BMC, post some of those pics you took! Also just a reminder that we'll be riding Jonkers tomorrow at 08:30.
  20. You see? No dilemma here, loud and clear: Merida.
  21. Aaah! Wys jou wat ek weet! Dan sal ek jou defnitief daar sien. Iemand hier lus om 'n medium Felt Virtue Two te demo?
  22. Is Sondag ook 'n social outting? Groep van Cycle Factory Store ry Sondae en soek paar mense om te join of sal ander mense wil join.
  23. Weet nie van julle nie, maar die weer pla my nie veel nie.
