  1. Very excited about this one.... counting the days.
  2. Thanks! Actually it was a bit tongue in cheek as my attention to the finer points of what its happening to my kit is very limited. I ignore tweaking any of the dials, I set and forget and only thing I do do is make sure after every ride the red ring is 95 - 99% to the top. I wouldn't know if my negative space is too little or my tokens are too much. It rides, it goes over things and it saves my ass when I run out of talent!
  3. Jeez, there I was thinking I'd gone and got a decent fork in the pike and now all I'm hearing is that the former bench mark of trail forks is a lame duck! Darn... may have to get me some Vorsprung action. Thanks for validating another purchase that will have other members of the family shaking their heads. Again.
  4. 1:30 Welsh Trail park corners... Heading over to the UK soon for a few things and will be heading down the motorway from London and into that fun for sure (and hopefully on one of the Meta's as well)!
  5. That was exactly the same issue I had, a software update on my 50. Maybe I was lucky but I got tons of communication, updates and guides for my mac and then in the end they wrote a seperate update specifically for my OS version / machine and followed up to make sure it was stable once it was installed. How to win one customer and how to lose another...
  6. Did you contact the Global / Headoffice rather than the local agents? I found the local guys were utterly useless and never replied so I Facebooked / emailed the international guys and they were amazing. I heard that there are new agents who have taken over the Bryton license in SA so maybe they'll get up to speed.
  7. I had an old Wolf Ridge back around 2008ish, the thing looked hideous but was completely mental to ride. Had a 67 head angle if I remember right.
  8. Oh, not stretch then. http://www.stretcharmstrongworld.com/images/dscf0073_300x225.jpg
  9. Love this guy for his pure enthusiasm... whether it's a bike, a trail or an MRP insert!
  10. I've been running mine around the 20 - 23psi with my ibex on the front and not had to many issues. I might up the pressure and see how they go on the next ride but they do seem quite hard for me when they go above 26psi odd.
  11. Cheers Odi and Myles for the input! Hey when are we getting a ride report of you Raidon? didn't you do an Endro just after you got it?
  12. Thanks! I was thinking it was a cut down Minion. Kinda like a burly Slaughter / RR idea on steroids for more gravity trails at the back. The Maxxis range just confuses the hell out of me... I think that's why I've stayed away for so long. So many casings, compounds, sidewalls. I just want a good tyre for hammering trails that mostly point down hill and won't fall apart!
  13. That write up is pretty massive. I wonder what they'll go for as I think it's a good looking bike and sounds bonkers.
  14. So I'm gonna up grade some rubber so am heading towards: - 27.5 HT: Mary at the front and one of the Nobby Nics at the back (just cos I've got them in the shed still. These will be on 30mm internals. - 29'r DS: Minion 2.5 DHF Dual up front & Shorty 3c 2.5 out back on 26 internals. That should stop the 'oh nice xc rig' comments on my tranny. Was tempted by a Wild Gripp'r as they can be got for sub R600.
  15. Now that winter is coming anyone got a good recommendation to replace my slaughter until next spring? I've got a spare ardent race in the shed. Heck should I even bother replacing it? Just rock it year round with the ibex up front and get a bit loose in the damp.
  16. My LBS put a set of Nobby Nics on for me and the front one was backwards. I rode it a few times and actually reckon it felt better than the very average traction you get from those things the right way around! I kept them like that until I kick them to the curb for being just horrible things anyway. It was quite like dragging an anchor though.
  17. Being allergic to latex I don't have those issues... I have minions to change my tyres, pump them up and ensure they are just to my liking (and save me from a trip to hospital!).
  18. Yup, it's a decision... Issue is not sure how much really gnar terrain there is here and if it warrants the meta. I've hammered most from things on my Tranny and with my 160 HT and not felt too out of depth on 90% of trails and wanting for more travel. That said the Jeffsy is 160 both ends and that is over lapping with the Capra for alot of trails and if it can't handle most things with that travel here I'd be surprised. The Meta is coming in 1kg heavier than a std Reign and packs 150 / 160mm and did take trail bike of the year in 2015 and second in 2016 and 1st again in 2017. I'd imagine that the Jeffsy will be featuring heavily in next years awards as well. I'm heading towards the Meta though as it's different and looks awesome fun for a killer price that can go bigger and harder.
  19. Just get a fanny pack... problem solved. Works a treat for me.
  20. Awesome!!! Ride review asap. I need to make a meta v4 vs Jeffsy decision asap!
