  1. How did this go? I'm super keen to get this inlay on my dropper. Where did you get that nut?
  2. Review that bad boy up. I was tempted by one of those but heard things about the flex of the casing and toughness issues.
  3. Deleted reply to old post! Soz.
  4. Hey hey', thought you'd left! That little beauty is currently a steal @ £15 (wiggle) or £18 @ Tredz. Doesn't attract duty here and is under the R500 limit so just rolls to SA with no extra costs. Should be delivered by Monday.
  5. Just spoke to the CTCT. Apparently loads of people trying to access the system on the first day has broken it. They seem surprised that everyone is trying to apply on the first day. They are trying to fix it but the offical word is 'don't bother trying today'. My official word was 'try taking the site offline while you're trying to fix it if it doesn't work and put a splash screen up saying 'it's not working' until you fix it'.
  6. As well. Both PPA and CTCT site seem to be down as well. Sitting on the phone for 40 mins so far with RaceTec / CTCT. Not a great look there guys.
  7. New build is under way... Boxes have been arriving. Final touches being bought. Thanks to Droo @ Stoke for the wheel help yesterday, rubber advice and pulling out these Deity grips when I was happily walking out the door. Gotta love a flange... Dual 180 rotors, no point posting pics! And then these bad boys: http://static.jensonusa.com/images/Color-Image/Zoom/6/G0001RW4.jpg
  8. Love the look of these and if there is a 120 external then that would be a winner. And to be honest that 1x trigger is a great idea. They just need to make that trigger available for other makes (giant... hint, hint) or my current post needs to pack up so I have an excuse to get one of these! Great to see a SA company in the market and bringing real world value, a quality product and backing themselves with the warranty and the cartridge. Good luck!
  9. Currently my experience of this service has been nothing but shocking from the start. I'll post a full review when they decide whether or not they have actually lost my brand new Revelation some where between landing it in Jozi and not sending to to Cape Town with my other item (it was a package of 2 things).
  10. This from a fellow hubber because I'm fed up with *** racks and because I'm a grown up who should know better by now.
  11. With the CWC sale happening (again) today I'll just book my pre-boast spot here for now and come fill it in later depending on what my credit card says.
  12. Spotted! I checked the UK site and there wasn't anything there. Jeez, they look like a bundle of fun. Now, wonder if there will be rush of older Trance sales.
  13. Wow, those trances look great. Would like to know pricing and if they are all spec'd with Pikes.
  14. All I got was a fat bill at the Post Office and it was touch and go as to if I was just going to walk away and save some money. The only thing I got was the offer of sending the whole package to somewhere at my expense for 6 months to dispute which really didn't seem that concrete or appealing. Can i at least get a refund on the inspection charge as that wasn't exactly all it should have been.
  15. So here is my issue with customs. I check on this and saw that there was no duty on tyre and no shop in SA stocked the tubeless road tyres I needed so I bought oversea. The package arrived and I got slapped with VAT, Duty, Handling and more that pretty much doubled the actual price of the tyres. When I asked if I could appeal they said I had to send back the whole package and it would take 6 months. That was obviously never going to happen. In addition to this the person who had opened the package had marked them down as car tyres despite the invoice clearly saying they were bike tyres. I know it's a big job but there doesn't seem to be that much consistency or come back.
  16. Any more info? Price? Road or dirt? Website?
  17. Wonder if the would work on a pike.... Not that'd do that kind of thing. Ever. Much. At all.
  18. Now that is an awesome vid' and a great looking bike! Not sure what that is going to cost but it looks like a winner and more than capable. Show you don't need to get into an arms race about the length of your suspension and you shouldn't feel inadequate if you're not in the 160 club and only pack 140 / 5".
  19. A good read. http://cyclingtips.com/2016/07/how-mark-cavendish-got-his-tour-de-france-mojo-back/
  20. Happens all the time (not the naming and shaming part). Guy was selling a Garmin last week for R1200 or so, Txt'd and he said 'had an offer of R1600 if you can beat it then it's yours', I said 'thanks but no thanks, you're just going to go ask to the other 2 to up the price if I do anyway'. I guess negotiable doesn't always mean down in price!
  21. Reckon he wants to take tomorrow's stage and really freak all the other contenders out.
  22. Another factor is that the spirit stages up until now have been characterised by the fact that no one has managed to get a full bore sprint train running and working 100% well in the last 2kms. This has meant that Cav' has been able to duck and dive in the chaos after being dropped off by Renshaw etc and freelance his way to the line. The run it to the Champs' is a very different scenario, the big open boulevards will be a massive battle between the big trains to get the first 4 wheels into the final corner. As good as they have been I don't think DD have got the fire power left (esp' with Renshaw gone) to mix it with Lotto, Ettix and the other players. On balance, Cav' isn't going to be able to freelance his way to win that stage.
  23. Fair play. He's taken 4 stages, the mountain coming up are going to nothing for his tilt at Gold and knowing his desire to win in Paris it can't have been an easy decision. Cav' is a rider that respects races and their history but this is he last chance to fill that one hole in his record. His year has been sterling so far and especially for Team DD. He's taken a World Champ', some overall stage races, silenced the people who had buried him last year, show Dougie Ryder to be very shrewd about running his team, killed it in TDF, worn the Yellow Jersey, worn the Green Jersey and now head's to Rio. Where are the other contenders for the Olympic Track medals? Fine tuning, not riding up the Alps and not done 16 hard days of a grand tour. Ask most riders if they are going to quit then they say 'nope', it's a way of avoiding the same Q's and speculation from the press, twitter and the rest of the spotlight. Plus he's much heavier due to track training and hasn't had the warm weather training sitting in Manchester velodrome. He needs to manage his recovery so he can go for gold and still have enough in the tank to swing for the World Champs in Dohar... That's a decent years work! Whether you like him or not the guy is champion, always speaks well about the team and his team mates, carries bottles on dom' duty etc. He's taken *** for the last couple of years and shown the naysayer his quality again this year. So a few more people trying to write him off for knee jerk reasons aren't going to do much apart from show themselves up.
  24. Wha, who, where are those? Good looking hoops.
  25. So how does it work if you buy something from eBay and it's second hand? What do you do about the certified value or must you lethe person to send a 'receipt' with the package?
