  6. Backpackers approx 2km on LHS. Did it in winter with snow on the top. Brilliant.

  10. I am not asking the organizers of Sani 2 Sea to make special arrangements for people of the Muslim faith. I am simply asking Muslims that have ridden Sani @ Sea to give suggestions as to how they overcame the hurdle having Halaal meals. I last year rode 3 Towers @ mankele and had no problem consuming the salads and warm vegetables not contaminated by Meat. Since the race finished a the same venue daily i was easy to bring along HALAAL Protein. Sani 2 Sea is a travelling stage race. I would not like to burden the organizers with lugging my "special" food around, Hence the QUESTION?
  11. Lets clear the air. Bin Laden: I have been riding MTB for the past 7 seven years in little Mpumalanga ( very slowly: no race snake). Up until recently very few people of my religion or race for that matter mountain biked in the area. The locals of which 90% were previously term Blankes and most of the Christian Faith gave me the Bin Laden handle. I was not offended and neither needed to justify my faith. As a matter of fact I have been invited to theme parties and have dressed as a Suicide bomber. The greatest thing about being South African is that we are able to Laugh @ ourselves.
  12. Okay, so is there any Muslims who have done Sani @ sea?
  13. Is there any Muslims riding or have ridden Sani 2 Sea? Basic concerns are about Halaal meals. l edited by SB
  14. mtb hard tails are okay . OLD MAN Mountain racks & Arkel Panniers Bags are built to go on roughest terrain. There is a guy on the net who lives in Lady grey that imports them and is reasonable. Dont be fooled by the european way of touring since they use Low rider racks. Not condusive to Africa's Dirt roads. BTW Riaan Manser used a MTB Hartail. Message me & we can talk.
  15. hello got the GT Karakoram. Bought it for fun. Yes its basic and good for the 1/2 Marathons. If u a race snake and have a good bank balance u seriously need to look for lighter better wheels and groupset. The G.t Great for to weekend warrior.

  18. There's no way on can ride with an MP3 blasting sweet sounds were I live. How the hell am I going to hear that hippo rumbling thru the bush or them Rhino poachers making a run for it.
  19. Solomons @ Woodmead. Ask for Agtar
  20. Riding my zula for the last 3 months. Same color as yours. Took all my components over from my Santa Cruz Superlite. Brilliant bike. post me after your first ride and watch it on the downs.
  21. Muslim riders are easily identifiable: 1. circumcision results in less shuffling on the saddle. 2. they are those male who are always squatting when pissing in the bush. 3. when climbing a monster climb following a female rider, they always drop their gaze. thats all for now folks. sorry they always ask how much your bike? and what discount?
  22. come to Hazyview we will take you around.
  23. will it help with landing? since I've only been taught to take-off and crash.
  24. I live in Hazyview, one of the better places to mtb in S.A. However whenever I venture to the concrete jungle I always go to Teak. The best around your neck of the woods. That branded park next to the Highway is way to Jozi.

    Commuting to work

Coenie: 20 post on and still no routes to speak off in Kaapstad. So hear goes my 2 cents. I commute to work in Hazyview. Home to work 4km on dirt. No cars,no Jaywalkers, but sometimes need to avoid cows, Egyptian geese, mongoose and the odd hippo. **** the traffic in this place.
