It's scary! And then you haven't even spent anything on "entertainment" yet, in our case cycling. And I'm not even talking about buying new bikes, just maintaining your current one and getting away for a weekend with a couple of friends to go ride.

Maybe Giant is the only manufacturer replacing cracked frames, thats why you only hear about then in the thread

I had the exact same thing happen to me last year when Giant replaced my XTC 29 frame. Thankful that they replace the frame, but even so it cost me about R700 in the end. Labour and the new pressfit BB. If my VW engine packs up during warranty, I take it in and get it back with a new engine. No questions, no costs. Or is this not a good comparison to make?

(i.e. 50hrs becomes 25hrs)

Contemplating upgrading to a Dale in the next few weeks. I've searched in past threads, but didn't find anything concrete. Just a few questions regarding maintenance on the Lefty. How easy is it to do the day-to-day cleanup. How easy is it to do the occasional self-service, if at all? Re-oil, check seals, bearing adjustment, etc.? How much is a typical minor service on a Lefty? How often do you have to service a Lefty, say compared to say a Fox? I see the 2013 Lefty models don't have that rubber sock thing on it anymore... does this influence the above in any way? Any feedback much appreciated, thanks!

Well three guys on rigid SS passed me (every time on a climb), and I finished so I guess they all made it home. Respect! Some of those short climbs were very steep!

Wonder how many people are gonna forget to tag back in at that neutral zone... I think the 60km racing snakes will catch me way before that bottleneck. So I apologize in advance ;-)

The first R250 already includes all the admin fees you get from the 100km race like timing, the coke stand, announcer, barriers, paramedics, etc. etc. etc. S\o the Second R250 is just for the extra 100km of (open) road... But ja... seems they are just upping the fee because it will sell out anyway...

Think this is the lowest I've seen that average speed indicator on the tour tracker so far, haha! 32km/h, I might be able to keep up if that was a flat!

I actually think tomorrow (stage 19) will be the real killer... just the passes alone add up to 4300m!
