  1. My Xterra Vortex suit feels pretty buoyant. This thicker panels in the front of the chest and legs feel like they do the job really good.
  2. I think it's just THAT specific Bryton that is crappy. My main problems with it: 1. When in cycling mode it does not display average speed. WHY would they not include that readout?? 2. In running mode it take forever to get a GPS signal. I regulary go for 30-40min runs where it never picks up the GPS. The upside to this is that I get so pissed off that I end up running faster than normal :-) 3. In my opinion the Bryton desktop software leaves a lot to be desired... although it is much better these days. 4. The battery is supposed to last about 8 hours in training mode. On a full charge last weekend I did the Greyton Classic (3 hours), then another 10km riding home (30mins). The next morning doing the trailrun, it died after 15minutes... That is half the claimed battery life! Think I would go for Garmin or Suunto next time.
  3. It will be fine when you run your regular routes, but if you are doing a 10k or 21k race and you want to hit a target time, a more accurate min/km pace will be helpful.
  4. You can put your cycling GPS in your pocket if you just want to track your run, BUT... if you want to actively get feedback while running you will need a watch. The most important feedback will be HR and pace (min/km). So I would go for a watch if you want the feedback while running. I've got a Bryton Cardio 30. It's crap, go for something else.
  5. Those guys should put some sunblock on their legs!
  6. Just as I'm about to lose faith in TheHub, I stumble upon this thread
  7. Sjo I remember none of that. But it might have been a case of the cold overwriting all other distractions!
  8. Free camping on the show grounds next to the registration venue. We went that route last year and was perfect. Close to everything, and lost of grass, and lots of space. Just bring a decent sleeping bag... last year we were FREEZING!! Can't wait to test my new sleeping bag this year :-) Still remember last year so clearly... woke up in the middle of the night from the cold, and our whole tent was basically awake because of the cold. While we were laying there we overheard this couple in the tent next door arguing: Guy: "Wat... wat is dit die??" Woman: "Dit is n kombers..." Guy: Is nie.. dis F0k0l!!" Will always remember that
  9. Jip probably was a 320GB PS3. Old stock they trying to get rid of, but I don't mind. Games perform the same, and we are scoring in the end. Ja, the manufacturers don't take too kindly to people messing with their stuff. Guess they also looking for any reason not to replace the product.
  10. How much mileage would you get out of that leash?
  11. That's not quite true I think. Have been looking the last couple months. Current special at macro for that type of combo is about R4500. Otherwise I would have gone for it :-)
  12. The 500GB super slim is about R1000 more, with no games. Won't be using it for massive amounts of storage, just the mandatory game installs and save games I guess. Media server will still live on the home PC. Excited though. Feel like a kid again :-) Now I just need the man-cave. Though I am still single, so guess the whole flat is a man-cave?
  13. Jip. E3 is in two weeks with some answers hopefully.
  14. R2700 for a (4th generation) slim 320GB version + 3 quality games. Know the PS4 is coming, but will be at a much higher price initially, and doesn't have backwards compatibility. And I still want to play the Uncharted series and GOW series etc. etc.. And now I finally have a Blu-Ray player!
  15. Just bought a PS3 through the Takealot.com deal this morning! Perfect weather for initiating it this weekend!
  16. 6:30 soft target, 7:00 hard target!
  17. Sjo, I have to stop coming to TheHub... the comments are becoming worse than News24, and starting to piss me off just as much.
  18. I've read on TheHub that people find the alloy to be very "soft". I.e. they dent easily when the rim hits a rock through the tyre. Do a search, quite a lot of opinions on them.
  19. Not sure about my exact times. but about: Swim - 0:20 Bike - 1:26 Run 1:23 plus transitions. Final time was about 3:20 I'm capable of running that distance in 1:00 or maybe 1:05 (I'm not a super fast runner), but yesterday I fell apart. But I'm positive it will be fixable before 20 Jan
  20. Kinda glad it was a tough day for me at Jailbreak, I now know on what I should focus for the next 6 weeks. Swim was good, bike was great, run was terrible. When I got of the bike I felt 100%, but 500m into the run I know I had problems. My stomach just felt full of fluids (like I had drunk 2L of Energade!) and it was very uncomfortable to run. Side stitch didn't help. Will have to do some more brick sessions where I ride like 50km and then go run. Think my nutrition might have been to blame... but good to know where the problem areas are now.
  21. Nice pics! Better than that other company

I think so, but you will have to export all your Endomondo rides to .gpx or .tcx files, and then import them using Strava. From Strava: Works for multiple .gpx, .tcx, .json, and .fit files 25MB or smaller, 25 files at a time.

I can recommend using Strava. Create an account and use the "Explore" feature. It list s all the user created segments. Then set it to only show cat.4 and maybe cat.3 climbs, and it will show you all the major climbs with distance, elevation, gradient, best times etc.
  24. I was also in E aiming for sub 3. Going towards Paarl I was worried we were going too slow, but when we turned in Wellington the pace picked up a bit and the group started to string out a bit. It was a massive bunch hey!? I tried a few times to get to the front, but people just kept coming past again and again... so thanks to the guys in the front On the Wiesenhof hill just after the last waterpoint the group finally shattered and I really had to dig deep and give it horns those last 15km to stay with the front runners. Made it in 2:48 so I'm super happy!
