  1. Dunno about the reliability, but please tell me why everyone is on about these wheels? I assume they're for XC, how light are they? Are they tubeless ready? How much do they go for?
  2. Argh! Next Sunday I'm going to be really, really, really hungover. What time? How long does it take to get there?
  3. I've pushed the pads back several times with no problems, as per JB's method. Even a smallish screwdriver works, just be gentle. The pads are pretty hard, so you have to be very special to damage them. I did eventually (after 2 years) have to replace those brake pads, not because I stuffed them up, but because the Marzocchi leaked oil on them. These Italians! Always looking for ways to make you go faster!
  4. If those bit are all new, or even nearly new, I'd say it's a good deal. Just remember that all the small bits will set you back a big amount at the end of the day: Stem, bars, seatpost, grips, pedals, tyres, headset... That's already another R2k+
  5. Check out www.trailriding.co.za Rides every weekend, skills clinics and chilled vibes. Worth joining in my opinion.
  6. CB Candies for when I'm clipping in, Shimano DX flats for when I'm being a lunatic.
  7. F***ing spot ON' date=' its a joke 2 be honest[/quote'] For 2 guys that voluntarily dress up in lycra before leaving the house on weekends, you sure take yourselves seriously!
  8. the sight of hog in lycra Hey I'm not THAT fat! I lost 1kg in the last 2 weeks! Not that anyone will ever see me in lyrca anyway.
  9. I don't think you're supposed to put the condom on...
  10. Good one, but no.
  11. It's frikken hilarious that roadies think they're stylish. Sorry guys, but lycra is for girls, not guys. It's not stylish, it's weird.
  12. Dude, toe-clips may be cool, but they're also difficult to get out of. The solution to your problems is simple: Trackstand. Watch this, then learn it:
  13. 24" bikes normally have a slightly higher BB. You don't want to hit the ground with the pedals during light turns, although with your wifey being tiny you can run short cranks. Maybe get something with geometry that's similar to jump bikes?
  14. That's just nasty! You'd think roadies would 'drop the kids off at the pool' before going for their ride so they can be a few grams lighter.
  15. I wouldn't try it with Shimano. Anything where the reservoir is on top of the lever normally gets air in the pipe once you pull it. What model XT is it? I may be able to swap you a right-hand lever for a lefty? Other option is to buy a left lever from CRC, they sell them separate.

  19. Haha, was worth a try, as you said! I already have a pair of Candy SL's, which are awesome. I'd get another pair except that they would go to waste since I use flats more lately. Maybe I'll just get a new pair of SL's and sell the old ones...
  20. Tell you what - you can buy my old Smarty pedals for R150, then use them to get an upgrade. How's that sound?
  21. But how else do you know when to replace the oil?
  22. Certainly qualifies for Hate Speech. Wonder if one could have him arrested for that. On a Friday, so he can sit all weekend...
