  1. Really? The race I watched, Alonso was the turd, Webber da silver? And then I crossed over to the motorbikes and saw Max Biaggi being shafted by the comissaires...
  2. You take the head of the person who sold it to you, and repeatedly use it as a hammer as you ask why they ripped you off with it? Cannondale has never made steel frames. Only Aluminium and/or carbon fibre.
  3. Oh dear. Common sense and decency, on a hub thread? You don't ask for much
  4. Not the way it is portrayed here. But let's hear the other side of the story?
  5. As a team manager - I hope not Pheiffer's - should you even be commenting on this while it is still being sorted out by CSA? Forget commenting, starting a thread that trashes the youngster without the benefit of his response is worse form from a team manager. It will not change what happened on the track - I would still like to hear what went on before to cause this reaction from Daniels, stuff doesn't happen for no reason all that often - but this thread could influence the outcome of a hearing if your ill-advised posting here is used by Daniels. He can rightfully feel grumpy he is being found guilty in his absence here. Not clever, IMHO. Let the correct processes do their thing.
  6. I am now even more confused than ever. Please don't try a third time, I am getting a headache I haven't lived in CT for a few years now, so my memories are vague enough of this intersection to work it all out - sounds more complicated than I remember. so, I will give up night night
  7. Ok - let's start this again - maybe I misunderstood you - Please don't get me wrong, if they were breaking the law, they deserve rockets where rockets don't fit. Were you turning left off the M5 to take the offramp? My understanding of your initial post was that you were. Were the guys in the yellow line, and just carried riding straight along, in other words 'crossing' the offramp? Or have I got it wrong and they tried to cross from the yellow lane, to the middle of the highway, across the two lanes of traffic that were not taking the offramp at all?? Just trying to understand.
  8. It is 100% legal on the M5, and 100% legal on a national road, unless that portion of road is designated a freeway. FFS, did you guys not do your learner's licences? This has been debated on the hub over and over: in CT, the freeways sections are: The N1, from just after the Milnerton offramp, to Paarl or there abouts The N2, from the bottom of hospital bend, to just before Somerset West The Blue Route (M3) from the top of Wynberg Hill, o it's end at Westlake. The N7 - I have not been a long for a few years, with the improvements, there may be some sections there. Eastern Boulevard, Hospital Bend, past UCT, the first part of the N1, De Waal Drive, the N7 (I think) are all completely legal for a bicycle, albeit very stupid places to ride.
  9. Riding on the M5 is NOT illegal, it is NOT a freeway. Check your facts, mate. Seriously. It may not be clever, but it is not illegal. This has been debated many, many times on the hub. Which makes the rest of your comments idiotic.
  10. Always two sides. From what you have described here, they attempted to keep riding straight along a road they are perfectly entitled to be on, and you couldn't control your speed/hurry enough to take an entry to an offramp safely, not just for you but for other road users, by slowing down and going behind them? Had they indicated they were turning up the same offramp? If not, you have made the error of judgement here, that could have screwed up everybody's day. Had they been riding, rightfully, in the left hand lane not inside the yellow line, which would have made continuing along the M5 safer, in theory, you would have been on here bitching about them riding in the middle of the road. Ride legally, you are damned. Ride considerately, in the yellow line, and you get self-righteous motorists trying to kill you. DISCLAIMER. I don't think riding the M5 is clever. At all. But it is legal. Unfortunately, cars are bigger than bikes, and drivers tend to run just a slight god complex. ANOTHER DISCLAIMER. They were riding 29ers?
  11. Horrendous. There is no greener pasture. http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/SA-family-attacked-in-Australia-20110501
  12. Ok, so when iPad 3 launches, and you are in the market for a new tablet, you will buy yourself iPad 1? Because you already have one? Sometimes, yes very infrequently, technology does actually advance, in spite of marketing. Personally, I think this is so with 29er wheels. I think I read it in Tread, some advice that said there is no need to sell your 26er to buy a 29er, but if you were in the market for a new bike, then the bigger wheels is the sane way to go. Which is the way I have gone... You might not agree, but I base my decision on many, many hours riding both, and for my riding style and preference (semi-sensible descending, marathon and stage racing and mild all-mountain playing), iPad 3 does the trick. Yes, I could continue to ride iPad 1, but why handicap myself if I have found something that works better for me? I didn't spot the answer to my serious question, have you ridden one? A 29er, not an iPad.
  13. Shame, can't you afford one right now? You have ridden one? I presume you have, that would be the only way you would know, for sure, it is all a conspiracy?
  14. And he won the combined category in the Mast Challenge on the weekend - 41 minutes by bike, 49 minutes running, second in both categories... ridiculous. I hate talented people sooooo much.
  15. Get Cyclejourno to sort it out for you, he is on first-name terms with all the local editors.
  16. Best chirp on the hub in 2011. OK, so it flew over some heads...
  17. What was the prize? Must be cool if it is worth waiting months for?
  18. A great bike for trolls, that's about it.
  19. The Hub is a wonderful place. If the two cyclists involved here had posted that afternoon that they had been taken out by a dog, that had run out from an unenclosed yard, and that the one stuffed her shoes and helmet, but the other had some serious medical stuff to come, and was going to be spending a hundred K or two to come right, 'we' would be baying for the dog owner's blood. And telling them to sue the pants off etc etc. Nowt stranger as folk.
  20. Break up slabs of Brooklax into bitesize chunks, and toss over the fence regularly. Then the little buggers won't be able to build up enough pressure to bark, and will also make such a mess they will be sold off to the local Chinese.
  21. You are presuming I haven't? See, that will just get you into trouble, you are presuming I am dissing the bike? Not at all - read it again. Just dissing the training wheels I have ridden a number of steel hardtails in recent months, albeit not this one, after deciding to buy one when I was in the UK. I am a complete fan of the Soul. Probably the best 26 inch HT on the SA scene, going by the numbers... just imagine how much better with the bigger wheels. They will make a great bike even better. Need some help off that high horse?
  22. Oooh that is nice. The 26" version got a good write-up in Tread, wondered if they were going to do one with real wheels.
  23. Thankfully we live in a country that is littered with MTB stage races, it isn't like Sani and Epic are the only two.
