  1. Was trying to be subtle
  2. My point was that Darren was nowhere near Supercycling... but you are right too.
  3. Victoria, you are misleading/misled. There is no way on earth the traffic department/s/City Council gave permission for the cycle route proposed. Even the Argus has to fight for it every year. Stop lying to people, and admit you f@£$%^&*d up.
  4. That, too, is a porky pie - the number I have been told is much closer to 200. Smellier and smellier, this is getting.
  5. Not my type, whatever blows your hair back: RobertaMancino
  6. Not sure if that is entirely fair on the Argus people, or Cape Town. I think it is more reasonable, but just as stupid, to say you will never do another triathlon, if this is the way triathlon organisers thank you.
  7. Given that it is clear they didn't even drive the proposed route before taking people's money, chances are the organisers included the City's support before actually talking to the City.
  8. I missed that. Daryl Impey didn't have anything good to say either.
  9. Will the pharmacy take back all the pain killers?
  10. Not exactly a surprise - was doomed from the moment they presumed they could get full road closure for the Argus route, for a handful of cyclists. The homework should have been done before the launch, really, not the other way around.
  11. 8:20:11 last year, which would have had him 5th again by one second. Has been struggling with a virus of sorts the past few weeks, debated whether to even go to Hawaii. Bet he is glad he did.
  12. And you give TNT a hard time for just thinking of himself?
  13. Marathon tapering 12 September 2011 - 02:04 I was wondering. There is a 50km marathon on Sunday (city2city) I was planning on only dong a bit of swimming etc for the week. Would it be ok for me to run like 5km's today or should I rest the legs totally? I am moderately fit. Did around 40 - 50km a week up until now and a bit of cycling. 'Moderately fit' a fortnight ago... when exactly is this Ironman you aren't going to be ready for?
  14. Big alarm bells there, mate. Seriously. Can it now, and you 'waste' that time and money. Try again when time and finances allow, but I can almost guarantee you if you go and start injured, and you will end up not finishing, wasting all that time and money anyway, and quite probably never be able to even think of doing it again. Not what you want to hear, I know, sorry!
  15. If you are going in with niggles, and expect them to hinder you, you should think rather of putting it off until next year. Seriously. Much better than kindney failure.
  16. +1
  17. But they are just good friends. Lance says so. Like Selebi/Agliotti, Zuma/Shaik,.
  18. I once met a guy who was the reigning SA snowboarding champion. Was it wrong to ask for details?
  19. Even this suurtiet would like to see that.
  20. I tried, but they kept banning me. Something about public indecency. Speedos are not for everyone.
  21. Lekker! We can add sandbagger to the ever-growing list of failings of the world's greatest ever cyclist. <Lance, not Eddy, for the few here that actually understand cycling>
  22. Second in a national championship of a tiny sub-discipline of a tiny niche sport. I am impressed.
  23. Was this Xterra world champs, or just US champs?
  24. International international, or superbowl international? I admit it.
  25. If it made her think twice the next time, then it was worth every effort/penny. More importantly, if it made her friends, your friends, and now all of us think, then it is all good. My only real fight, ever, with my former mother in law, was when a found her taking my laaitie to her house - half a k down the road - without strapping him in. She understands now.
